This bottle is listed as 8.1% abv. Pours a dark brown color, somewhat murky, with a thin frothy off-white head. The aroma is full of cinnamon spice, nutmeg, ginger, and pumpkin pie filling. As far as pumpkin beers go, this is pretty solid. There’s not really any of that pie crust flavor sometimes found in these pumpkin beers but rather this leans heavily on the spices. A sweet brown sugar note mixes in with the aforementioned spices, a stale cardboard flavor, and of course, pumpkin filling. There’s a lot of spice to this but also quite a bit of sweet flavors that end up offsetting each other. Good thing. Bottom line is I enjoyed this more than I thought I would so kudos for that.

Poured a very cloudy, almost flat brown. Palate was not flat, however. The nose was full of spices. The flavor was solid and certainly not too sweet. This was a medium bodied ale that did not disappoint. Definitely one of the better pumpkin ales I’ve had this season.

Bottle thanks to watson1977. Very hazy brown/orange. Very nice aroma of mild pumpkin, allspice, and bready notes - not overpowering, not underwhelming. Good flavor with initial light pumpkin followed by allspice, pepper, toast, and a hint of roasted malt. Lingering pepper/pepperment/cinnamon, toasted malt, and a slightly odd plastic flavor. Nothing crazy, but solid and well put together.

So I’m not into pumpkin flavored things all too much and to make a brew like this must have been a very difficult feat. I’ve tried the equivalents from the likes of Dogfish Head, Southern Tier, Weyerbacher etc. and this beer not only takes the cake but trumps all opponents(Dogfish clearly second place). Amazing amber color with the smell of nutmeg, toffee, caramel, and a touch of pumpkin. Tastes of gourmet pumpkin pie. Right on the money. Makes me happy to be from New Jersey.

Draft from Spuyten Duyvil. Orangish brown pour. Strong cinnamon & nutmeg aromatics. Very good.

Draft. Pours amber red with a thin head. Lightly sweet aroma with ints of pumpkin and spices. The flavor is a touch on the bland side, but pleasant, with some sweetness and pumpkin spices. Not bad.

Pours a cloudy almost cider like appearance. The aroma is full of spices. Mild hints of pumpkin throughout. Not one of the sweeter pumpkin beers out there but quite tasty and goes down easy at 8%. Definitely worth a taste if you’re a big pumpkin fan like me!

7/10/2011 on cask @ Blind Tiger, NYC (2011-545)
Clear deep orange to amber or copper red beer, small to no head. Aroma: ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, sweet sugary, some caramel. MF: no carbon, full body, pretty thick texture. Taste: bit of citrus, sweet malts, spices (ginger, cinnamon), pumpkin (?), banana, oranges. Aftertaste: banana peel, little bitter. Not bad, but no wow effect.

Bottle. Different label than that in the picture. Mine says 8.1% ABV. Pours a hazy reddish amber color with a smallish beige head. Cinnamon, caramel, nutmeg, cloves, and pumpkin in the pleasant aroma. Medium-bodied and creamy here and there on the way down. Caramel, sweet pumpkin pie, and cinnamon dominate the flavor. Some vanilla creaminess in the middle. A little cereal wheatiness at the end. Plenty of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves from start to finish. Hints of warming alcohol are present throughout and only add to the depth of this brew.
