3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very hazy orange coloured body with a burnt amber glow and a very thin, oily tan head. Aroma of VERY pungent pumpkin, a lot of alcohol, some spices (nutmeg and allspice are potent) and a bit of sweetness is noticeable. Full-bodied; Deep, pungent, biting pumpkin flavour that shows up almost as a food and not a drink - a lot of malt in here and a dense, chewy mouthful. Aftertaste has some spices, but a lot of pumpkin, some sweetness and a strong alcohol warmth. Overall, this is a very potent beer with some good flavours, but not amazing. If you want a deep beer experience that borders on a meal - you’ve got it right here. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle (as part of a six pack) purchased from Liquor Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 10-October-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 22-November-2010.

A serviceable pumpkin ale for the season. Hits the right notes - clove, cinamon, noticeable pumpkin notes. Not overwhelming but fine.

This may be an imperial pumpkin ale but it tastes mellow and medium bodied. This isn’t a criticism. Rather I think they got the balance right on this one. Not overly spiced at all which can be a downfall of pumpkin and fall ales. Prolly my favorite beer of the night and I’ve had a few.

Smells are cinnamon and pumpkin. Cloudy golden brown with a Carmely head that's thick but doesn't last too long. Nutmeg and cinnamon fill your throat then small amounts of pumpkin hit you. Then a lil bits of bitterness kick your after taste. Overall not too bad.

Pours a dark and hazy amber. Aroma is complex with malt, wheat, hops, pumpkin and spices. Taste starts with some spices and comes around with heavy malt, wheat, and some light pumpkin and cinnamon. A light bitter malt aftertaste.

No date on bottle and am skeptical of freshness. Pours murky brown with faint white head. Aroma is pumpkin spice. Taste is astringent pumpkin. Not for me.

Aroma is great. The appearance is off-putting. Cloudy, brown with no head. Tastes pumpkiny but odd almost soapy aftertaste-nah.

Amber color with a foamy off white head that shrank to a lasting collar. Pumpkin pie spice nose with noticeable alcohol. Caramel sweetness with lots of cinnamon and pie spice, all under a lot of imperial alcohol. Tasty big holiday beer.

1 year bottle pours cloudy orange-borwn with thin off-white head. Nutmeg, cloves, ginger, honey, caramel. Medium/high sweetness. Light bitterness. Sticky, medium body with a bit of astringency.

Red-tinged pumpkin orange body with a gentle, silken cover. Heavy pumpkin-spiced bouquet--ginger,perhaps some mace. Boozy body. Alcohol breath exhales through the pumpkin spices of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg. Definitely lives up to the "imperial" name, but a bit too heavy-handed for my liking.
