An amber beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet alcoholic and rather hoppy, while the flavor is sweet alcoholic, combinede with light notes of metal, and the hops only makes their presence known from a dry end.

UPDATED: APR 12, 2011 2010-06-19, bottle, 6-4-6-3-13=32 Hazy amber color; the bottle is a gusher; in the glass there is first of all just 100% frothy foam. Not much hop in the aroma (unfortunately the bottle is not fresh anymore), but some vegetables. Quite good caramel flavor, some residual sweetness; quite strong bitterness, but with no soul.
2009-10-17, draught at Barcade, New York, 7-4-6-2-12=31 Amber color. The aroma is slightly hoppy and resiny, as expected, but not impressive. And indeed the flavor is too roasted: roasted nuts and roasted malt. Strong bitterness. It doesn’t go in the direction that I like.

(12oz bottle, courtesy of Cavie) Pours a clear amber body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of baby powder, perfume, and spruce. Flavor of caramel malt, grass, some grapefruit, and earth with a dry, moderately bitter finish.

Robust English interpretation with a lot more malt than the name would suggest - very earthy. Hops more a factor in the bitterness than aroma.

on tap-pours a creamy, rich tan head that laces. Color is copper. Aroma hops. Taste is lighter hops with a bite. Secondary malt and sweetness. Medium carbonation and medium body. This beer seemed to vary on each serving and from a bottle too.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 bhensonb (8954) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 16, 2011
Bottle from Oak Tree. Lable doesn’t refer to dry hopped. It is unfiltered. Pours coppery amber with a significant foamy off-white head. Aroma seems floral and citrus. Med body. Starts with a little candied sweetness - caramel, then develops a little bitter, and finally ends bitter as the sugars depart. More like ESB than APA. To me anyway.

Bottled: Amber coloured. Clear. Off white head. Aroma of hops and herbs. Some sweetness and spices. Flavour of hops, herbs. Quite buttery. Is bitter in the end. Good mouthfeel.
