Bottle. I really enjoyed this ... hoppy but thick / full and malty. Good hop finish that doesn’t disappoint. Caramel color, pours with a great head. Would recommend.

deep red hue, really appealing. Not as hoppy as advertised and a little dissapointing. Still, it’sa small palate, but it works. Yeah, New Jersey.

12oz bottle thanks to jtclockwork. Pours clear copper with white head. Aroma of citrus, fresh hops, and caramel malts. Flavors of citrus, fresh hops, and some caramel sweetness. Pretty damn hoppy for an APA.

Excellent Pale Ale. Lots of caramel malts and grapefruit hops swirling around to liven onto the tongue with a hazy amber palate that’s carbonated and not harsh. Great beer, and sessionable at 5.5%. The stuff of go-to beers I feel!

12 oz bottle. Pours light copper in colour, with a nice frothy off-white head, which leaves lots of lacing. Aroma is earthy, herbal hops. Taste is super bitter. Carbonation is very fine, with a smooth, sweet finish.

12 oz bottle from a variety pack. Pours slightly hazy-orange with a long lasting white head and a lot of lacing. Aroma is of caramel malt, some citrusy hops and ripe fruit. Body is full and very crisp. A lot of grapefruit hops balanced on the palate by caramel malt and ripe fruit. Finish is long lasting, dry, grapefruity. Nice APA

[Note: I have tried to review this beer several times, but each time I have, it has been spoiled, giving off a very strong butterscotch flavor. I don’t know if this is more of a result of the conditions of storage or the fragility of the beer. At any rate, this one was not spoiled.] Has a really nice, very cloudy dark orange color. Head disappears quickly. The color of apple cider. The smell is some nice woody hops over some mild butterscotch and sour apple. Some toasted, nutty malt. Pungent raisin with some alcohol thrown in. Lots of piney woody aromas. A nutty malt is the first taste, similar to a dry amber. (An unusual peanuty aftertaste?) HInts of raisin and a dash of black licorice. A darker brew than expected. Caramel emerges at the tail end. Dry and a little ashy feel, but also nicely thick. A nice, toasted ale. A pale, but a dark one to be sure.

Served from bottle into a Samuel Smith imperial pint. Pours a nice hazy dark copper with a three finger white head that subsides to one finger. It maintained excellent lacing throughout. The aroma was comprised of malt, hops, and citrus. The flavor was of malt, slight hops, and citrus. It was light on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a very nice brew. It definitely had a very unique aftertaste that I could not determine the origin of. Just hate I can’t get it around here.

This funky hippopotamus poured a hazy copper color with a small white head. The bouquet was faint and hard to make out. The hippo swallows smooth with a flowery hoppy creamy slightly bitter taste. Overall a decent pale ale. If pale ales were my thing I’de be in hippo heaven. Fortunately, their not so this 12ozer can’t quite crack the 4 mark...

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark amber with a nice creamy off-white head. Fresh hoppy nose, piny, and noticeable malts. Medium body that is soft and creamy. Not so much taste til the big hoppy finish, citrus, could be balanced more with the malts but maybe that would take away from the brew as is. Two thumbs up.
