The fabled Hop-a-lot-amus is a mythical creature. The heavy hop character of this Double IPA is as subtle as a "river horse" in your lap, but finishes like a hippo in a tutu. Enjoy! 93 IBUs

Courtesy my Secret Santa. Thanks man! Aroma was of cheap ale. Stale malt with notes of terpentine and light hops. Pour was a nice enough murky burnt orange with a thing off white film for a head. Taste was OK. Cheap tasting, with iced tea, plastic and sterile caramel. A little hot from the alcohol and a a tad astringent. Nice carbonation. Too much off flavors in this beer.

Pours a hazy deep orange color with a decent amount of head that dissipates quickly. To be expected from 8.5% ABV. Aroma smells of roasted fruits. And alcohol. Orange and tangerine. I also get a lot of sweetness from the malts. Taste up front I get a sweet malt character, and a great resiny hop flavor. Again, I get a strong roasted fruit like burn from the alcohol, they didn't hide it very well in this beer. Overall, it's a good DIPA. But I've had much better.

Darker pour. Beer fuckin sucks, tastes like rotting vegetables, smells like maple syrup. Messed up,

Cloudy, dark amber with decent lacing head. Floral aroma with hint of citrus and malts. Based on the aroma was expecting a bit of a malt bomb, but is actually quite balanced. Nice floral and subtle citrus notes. Slick mouthfeel. Slightly bitter finish. Big, full mouthfeel.

Murky caramel colored beer with a short lived off khaki head. Nose of alcohol, hop resin and some fruit. This is a big, chewy hop beer with lots of resin, some candied grapefruit rind, some pine, alcohol and caramel sweetness. A little rough with the alcohol.

Expecting more but the hop was a little less prominent than expected. Slightly low ABV for a double in my opinion. A little more mellow than I wanted. Comparable to a ST IPA.

From notes: Poured hazy orange-amber with a 2-finger bone-colored head. Light aroma of citrus mixed with some musty, bready yeast. Full body, mildly thick with a dry, earthy finish and a light astringency. Resiny hops flavor with some stone fruit, Earthy yeast and notes of citrus in the finish.

12 ounce thanks to Ed5388. Malty and hoppy. The overall taste, though, strikes me as a bit of light caramel and biscuit. Slight sweetness mixed with bitter. A bit unique.

Really good beer. Hoppy but not overwhelming. Very pleasant beer worth sipping.

Straight forward hop-centric 2XIPA, citrus, medium bitterness and sweet malts. Complex? Not really! 2XIPA that can get you buzzed? Absolutely!
