COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The fabled Hop-a-lot-amus is a mythical creature. The heavy hop character of this Double IPA is as subtle as a "river horse" in your lap, but finishes like a hippo in a tutu. Enjoy! 93 IBUs

12 oz bottle, tulip. cloudy dark amber hue with cream egg shell lasting head, good lacing, dry hop gives medium bitter aftertaste, some juice/citrus but nothing that distinguishable, not as thick as a typical DIPA, just above average

Bottle->tulip: Pours a medium, frothy, lasting, offwhite head that exhibits good lacing. Strong aroma of floral hops which is not overpowering and quite pleasing. Medium-to-full bodied, moderately sweet, ending ever-so astringently. This is another great beer from River Horse--a definite must for hopheads.

6/19/11 river horse hopalotamus. Sharpshooters in gburg. Hazy honey/orange brown w/a dense almondy head and sticky foam rings. A.... Big nail polish fades into creamy pineapple, florals, spice, citrus, caramel malt. Flavor is very spicy on the finish, citrus sweet pineapple, mild pine. Abv is noticed but not hot. Tingly and spicy on the tongue yet very creamy and smooth. 6/4/6/4/14

Sharp bitter aroma with a light amount of malts. Very cloudy color with a medium off white head. Strong bitter taste throughout. It fades slightly in the finish but most still lingers into the end.

Drank this right after Sierra Nevada Torpedo and I could barely taste it. This was susposed to be super hoppy, but its not as bitter as you would hope. I will try this again by its self.
