3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours pitch black with a one finger tan head with pretty nice lacing. Aroma is of roasted malts, coffee, bakers coco, molasses, sweet malts, and some vanilla. Taste is about the same as the aroma and is of roasted malts, milk and dark coco, coffee, sweet malts, mint, and vanilla. Has a medium body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a mostly sweet, medium finish. Overall, a pretty nice oatmeal stout.

1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Deep, dark brown but bald. Even a little swirl ca't ressurect the head. Tastes like chocolate milk, but with no carbonation. A little heat from the alcohol on the back end. A milk should be cooling. The flatnes and alcohol take away from the delicious chocolate taste.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled. Pours black w/ a tan head. Aroma is malty with lots of rich milk chocolate. Flavor is sweet, similar to left hand milk stout, but has a slight hint of coffee bitterness at the end. Definitely more effervescent than I would necessarily like. I think this w/ nitro would be very nice. Overall, very nice.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from my sister.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. Gentle sporadic lacing sticks around the sides of the glass.
The smell had a soft chocolate sweetness with a gentle rolling warmth of booze underneath, huh, hmmm...must be really fresh at 6.7%. Light grainy to thick dark fruitiness trying to strike a certain strength in this one.
The taste took the previously mentioned flavors and added a good sweet booziness.
On the palate, this one sat fairly light for the most part and showed a decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there but not overbearing.
Overall, good beer, now where are my oatmeal raisin cookies to go with this? (wink). I’d have it again.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Eulogy. Black pour. Soft beige foam on top that dies to a lasting ring. Feels quite thin to start with (for an oatmeal stout.) Grows thicker as it warms. Some coffee chocolate cookies. Soft milky vanilla cream. Reddish brown fruit. Figs. Molasses. Some ascetic notes in the nose. Darkly sweet but a nice sudden dry spicy finish. Missing complex stout flavors, but otherwise not so bad.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Undated bottle, from the 2013 release though.
Appearance: The pour is pitch black and the body is equally as so. A tall, neat and dense brown head rises from the black body and sticks around for a bit for a nice presentation.
Aroma: The aroma is mild with some carbonic acid. Creamer is noticed along with hints of roast and bittersweet chocolate. The aroma is a bit muted and blurred.
Taste: This tastes better than it smells. I get a solid malt base of bittersweet chocolate with roast becoming prominent by the finish. Lactose sweetness runs through, but there’s a mild astringency throughout as well. The finish lingers of a roasty bitterness.
Palate: Nearly full-bodied, a bit light. Carbonation is a bit too present.
Overall: I don’t find myself looking to buy this again, especially when Left Hand does it cheaper and better. Why is this a $12 six pack to begin with? It’s only traveled a few hours and it’s no more expensive to brew than their other beers which are more reasonably priced. I don’t get it.

Bottle, cheers to eelbasher! The pour’s deep brown with a tight tan head. The nose is sweet coffee and caramel ice cream. Light cinnamon heat, toasted nuts. Melted coffee ice cream flavors. Hints of raisins. Dark chocolate. Light body, effervescent carbonation. Tasty stuff.
