3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle in an English pint glass. Pours black with a thin, tan head. Aroma of caramel and coffee. Sweet like a milk stout should be, so great for the style. Body is average, and the texture is oily. A nice coffee flavored finish with toasted malts. A really good milk stout.

(Old BA rate - bottle)
Near black color with brownish hues. Thin, slightly tan head. Really close to the smell of actual milk, with some malted milk sweetness and roasted malt. Not as sweet or milky as suggested in the aroma, and the toasted malt characteristics really shine through. Nice little snap of carbonation on the tongue toward the finish. A bit viscous, and coating. Definitely what I would expect from the style. This is a very drinkable milk stout in that it is not as sweet as some of the other brews Iíve tried in the style. Pretty basic overall, but still some nice subtle complexities

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, batch 005. Pours reddish brown, appears pretty much black in the glass, with a small dark brown head. Aromas are chocolate malt, dark chocolate, cherry, alcohol, slight hops, and some woodiness. Flavor is malty, sweet, and nutty; Iím getting roasty chocolate, sour cherry, and alcohol. Itís carbonated, sour dry, and pretty smooth. This is pretty good.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Wow, a sweet stout at 6.7% Seems a little high there for me. Big thanks to LilBeerDoctor, one great trader! Pour is big nice and black. Thin foamy edge on the inside ring of the glass. Smell is somewhat metallic but also burned roasted wood. Big bold dark flavors like a sweet stout but even thicker, alky wise. Yep, burned old wet campfire coals like they were extinguished last week. Decent amount of sizzle for a strosng beer. A dark tasty beer, with mild flavor yet a personality to be recended with.Does a really good job of hiding the alky content, would have never guessed this over 6%. A slightly bitter roasty finish. I guess overall this is simply a plain old good dark roasty beer with more than sweet stouty appeal. Borders on impy stout. Thanks LilBeerDoctor, you rock!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
a bit milky almost creamy this brew has an acrid smoke component to the flavor reminiscent of the Milkeller. though gratefully it is more subdued. cherry and date flavor perhaps a bit of apple near the end the brew has a moderate mouthfeel with foamy and easy carbonation. a tried and true recipe it seems brought forward by this brewer and a successful take indeed. milky with a bit of a hot cocoa in the flavor.

Deep black with a very thick creamy sticky tan head. The nose has a fresh oaty quality with a lot of cocoa, milk chocolate, malted milk and light roast. There is a touch of bright blackberry/cherry fruitiness and even a bit of sweet date character. Warming brings up a pronounced roastiness on the back. A kiss of light astringency but it works well with an oaty silkiness. Rich and silken palate. A light touch of herbal flavour on the back. Pretty solid stout.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: Pours out a humble black body topped off with a frothed, bubbly, beige head.
Smell: Amiable aroma smelling lightly of roasted, dark malts housing notes of chocolate and unsweetened chocolate. Smattering of flaked oats as well as some meek, mild hints of dark fruit.
Taste: RHOMS has a moderately roasty start with tastes of chocolate and coffee and even Mayfield-brand Rocky Road ice cream. Medium-light sweetness throughout. Gentle touch of dark fruitiness in the background. Small hint of nutty oats in amongst the roasty malt flavors. Low degree of bitterness. Final hints of chocolate and coffee on the near-dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Properly smooth medium-plus body. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Smooth and reasonably well-balanced. Not a bad little milk stout, really.
