3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
ROasted coffee, slight lactose sweetness. Well balanced. Flavors go really well together, however the body is fairly light and watery. Good but a little unsatisfying.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a deep mahogany brown with a light brown head which disappears quickly......aroma is coffee, dark chocolate....taste is quite enjoyable, coffee, coffee ground bitterness, smooths to plum as the taste retreats. A lingering coffee remains. Just a touch more mouthfeel would sent it over the top.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a deep brown, nearly black color with a two finger head of tan colored foam. The head has a decent level of retention, fading to leave only a trace of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is rather strong of an oatmeal and roasted malt smell, mixed with some vanilla and sweet crème sweetness. There are some other aromas of chocolate and a little bit of a burnt smell, leaving one with a nice roasty and sweet smell overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a rather sweet and roasty flavor with a whole lot of vanilla and caramel sweetness matched by some light chocolate and a whole lot of roast. Right from the start there is also a very hearty oatmeal flavor which creates a fantastic base taste for the brew. As the taste advances a more chocolate and some crème come to the tongue, with these, in the end, leaving one with a nice oaty and slightly roasty and sweet flavor to linger on the on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the slightly thicker and chewier side with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. For the style and the nice sweet oatmeal and roasty tastes of the beer, the feel is fantastic, creating one nice and thick mouth coating feel that baths the tongue in all the great flavors of the brew.
Overall- This is a quite nice oatmeal stout. Sweet, but not overly sweet. Dark, but not overly dark or roasty like. Mixed with a whole lot of sweet oatmeal, it makes for one delicious brew.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle This stout is from AOPD beers each month The stout poured a pitch black color with tan head and modest lacing. As the stout warmed up chocolate and toffee were detected on the nose. The taste was more complex with chocolate a touch of smoke and toffee. This is a nice stout. I pulled out of the frig an opened too quickly. . Let it warm to 45 degrees. The flavors and aroma will be worth it. The lactose sugar may produce more sweetness then necessary, The medium body stout had soft to average carbonation. A fuller body and stronger oat expression would take this beer to the next level, but is still highly enjoyable as it is.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A: sweet roasted malts, deeper more burnt malts, hints of chocolate, coffee, a hint of caramel as well.
A: pours jet black with a one finger brown head.
T: Big and roasty flavor with a bittersweet chocolate astringency. Certainly a sweetness here that complements the bitterness.
P; Almost thin bodied with medium carbonation. It’s creamy, but I wish it had some more body.
O: A nice stout that doesn’t quite have the lactose and sweetness that others have but, as a sweet stout, it’s very nice.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle.
This is not your traditional milk stout.
It’s not very sweet, it has a relatively rich flavor, and there’s more chocolate and coffee.
Drinks like a higher gravity beer.

Spuyten duyvil, brooklyn cask: pours black with a small loose cask head. Aroma is chocolate, mint, and maybe anise. Taste and aroma are like of an old school British porter. Interesting and a little different. Better than expected.
