2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
I will make this rating short and sweet. This beer taste like Coors with a yellow Label on the bottle. I was not Impressed at all.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle from msiano. Pours a clear golden orange with a small fizzy white head. Aroma of grain, lemon grass, and a slight touch of soap. Crisp palate with a light to medium body and very noticable carbonation. Flavor of grain, and only a slight hint of fruit. If you need to bring something to a BBQ to drink out of the bottle this isn’t bad. If you ant something complex with lots of aromas and flavors to really sip then move along.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: Pours a hazy, golden body with an explosive, huge head. River Horse certainly doesn’t cheat in the carbonation department.
Smell: Sugary-smelling aroma of crackers, a hint of pepper, and a slight pear-like fruitiness.
Taste: Wheaty, crackery flavor with a medium level of sweetness. Citrusy. Light pear esters. Pinch of spice. Not much in the way of bitterness. Dry, zesty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Well carbonated.
Drinkability: Y’know, it’s not so terrible once all of that damnable carbonation settles down.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle from a River Horse Variety 12pk. Slightly hazy, pale, golden yellow. Big, white creamy foam. Aroma of vanilla creme, flax seed, and cedar. Interesting flavors are a bit nutty, clove, and woody (like oak). Slight fruity detection of a weizen yeast? Very dry. Light medium bodied. I think this beer would best be enjoyed poured in a Duval glass. Notes: Flax seed w/ hefe yeast

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Thin white head of fine bubbles. Light carbonation. Some chunky floaters in there. Ooohhh, not a good aroma. Sour milk, creamed corn and some grassy aromas in there. Pale gold in color. Light malt flavor with some biscuity malts. more corn and some light spices. Finishes kind of sickly sweet and cardboardy. I did not have very high hopes for this brew and I was correct.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle-pours a thin white head and yellow color. Aroma is musty grain, secondary light/fruity (saaz?) hops. Taste is musty yeasty/grain, secondary light/grassy hops, fruity-raspberry. OK but not memorable. Good effervescence.

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: JUL 8, 2008 This is a re-rate since the ownership change at River Horse. Unfortunately, it’s still a rather "plain jane" golden ale. Not much in the way of flavor or anything else. No hop presence whatsoever. Rather pale shade of yellow with minimal head and carbonation. It seems that almost all River Horse brews have a similar flavor..........either from the base malts used, or some sort of infection? I’m optimistic and guessing the former. The only real compliment I can give this, is that it goes down better than most macros.
