Great summer memories are born out of uncomplicated times. We've made that the basis for our Summer blonde recipe and kept this ale pure and simple. Relax and enjoy this all natural, light, golden beauty. A seasonal offering from the River Horse Brewing Company.

12 ounce bottle. Hazy honey gold pour with a medium-sized rocky white head. Mild lemony malt nose, with hints of light grain and yeast. Light grainy malt flavor upfront. Thin bodied and bready. Light fruity hops in finish. Lean and light, as a summer ale is supposed to be. Nothing more.

From bottle to glass at Tribe Road Kitchen in Hamilton, Bermuda. With 45 minutes of free time during an overnight business trip, I happened upon a great lunch spot with a small, but eclectic bottle collection and chose one I had not had. This was light, crisp and refreshing in the heat. Bready malt was the main character of the flavor, with lemon on the aroma.

Pours from bottle a slightly clouded yellow-gold that clears steadily, with one-finger white head that leaves some lacing and skim. Light, uncomplicated aroma of biscuit and grass, tempted to say ’smells like beer.’ Palate adds gentle lemongrass, bread, hint of corn, mineral. Manages to provide a creamy mouthfeel despite fairly light body. Finish is crisp and clean. The simple approach works well for a summer beer. This is one of the better thirst-quenchers that I’ve had lately.

This is a very light beer. Not much aroma. I would like to compare this to a coors light beer. Yuk

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2016 A pretty standard blonde ale. One of riverhorse’s better beers. Easy drinking, perfect for the summer sitting on the porch watching the sun set.

Cloudy pale with River horse standard selection of hops. An easy summer sipper for hops lovers.

This beer doesn’t do anything in spectacular fashion, but it’s light, it’s easy on the eyes, and it sits well on the tongue. You can do a lot worse than this beer as summer ales go.

Appearance: clear medium gold, short white head, minimal lacing. Aroma: crackers, light grass, hint of mineral water. Taste: saltine crackers, white bread, lemongrass, dough. Finish: crackery malts linger surprisingly long, with just a hint of floral hops and a little minerality; carbonation dries things out nicely. Notes: A good golden ale. Basic and not a huge beer, character-wise, but well-executed, bright and refreshing. Like a slightly less-hoppy kolsch. Finish was the best part. Draft at Fins in Cape May, New Jersey.

Pours a slightly hazy amber from a bottle with a slight white head. Malty aroma, not strong, wheat flavor, maybe a slight lemon but rather bland. Meh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass. Golden color. One inch white head slowly dissipates. Some lacing. Hardly anu aroma. Light taste. Some corn and barley notes. Light easy finish. Light to moderate carbonation. Nice lighter summer beer. Nothing fascinating. Simple, smooth and refreshing.
