3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 kramer (3880) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 19, 2012
Tap, brewpub, backlog. Pours a slightly hazy copper body with a small off-white head. The nose is big and citrusy with some nice Simcoe notes. Just a little caramel malt below the hops, letting the hops shine bright. The flavor is bitter and brash with a big grapefruit rind middle. Some piney and slightly catty hops as well. The malt base is pretty sturdy while still letting the hops take center stage, there’s no sweetness to be had. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, a little noticeable alcohol, but not terrible. Lingering Simcoe finish. Probably the best beer that came out of here under Bart’s tenure at the brewing helm.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Nate (3327) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 13, 2011
On tap at Pints for Pets. Huge hop nose. Piney with citrus and herbs. Light brown sugar and caramel but mainly huge fresh hops. Medium golden amber clear with thin off-white lacing head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts with a bit of pale malt sweetness. Otherwise, huge hops flavor, like hop tea. Big bursts of hop flavors and big bitter finish and after. Dry bitter on the tongue. Nice, big IPA.

Perfectly balanced bitterness to maltiness. Sampled the first batch at the River House. This may be the best alpha deuce ever.
