Bomber from LetsPour.com. Pours amber with a slight white head. Aroma is like a light barleywine with a little floral hop. Full bodied. Flavor is very floral and fruity - like there are Belgian yeast type fruit esters all over this. There is some mild caramel backbone. It’s hoppy as all heck, but not harsh like a NW ale. Finishes with fruity ester which seems a combo of pineapple and something like peach. Very Belgian all the way through to the finish.

On tap at the JW Marriott. Pours a clear orange gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of earthy grass and earthy grains with a hint of sweetness. Flavor has earthy light grassy hops and earthy grains that give an overall musty note, doesn’t work great.

Sample at GABF 10/11/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. Pours a hazy dark amber color with a medium foamy light beige head and small patches of lacing. Aroma of hops, citrus and yeast. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, bready malt and yeast. The finish is fruity with a lingering hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

650 ml. bottle. Pours a thin short lived white head, with some lacing, over a hazy, dark gold (SRM 6) body.......nose is light toffee/caramel, light citrus peel, slightly musty........taste is light toffee/caramel, honey sweetness, hints of pine, licorice, finishing with an orange peel, pineapple, apricot laden (a fruit salad) moderate bitterness.....mouth feel light of medium, carbonation low. Although the label says Belgium style, I am unsure. The hops were done with a relatively light hand, resulting in a slightly malt forward beer. There were no unusual esters or phenolics from the yeast. I think all the fruit aromas and flavors were from the hops. The rating of this beer is difficult, because I don’t know what the brewer was aiming for. In one space it could be brilliant, in another a disaster. It is a nice beer, just not what would routinely be in the glass as a D/IIPA. How about calling it a Belgian Golden Strong? BJCP 7/3/14/4/7

Decent double, belgian yeast adds some subtle complexity to an other wise pretty straightforward DIPA. Bit cloudy and hot.

On draft at River North. Pours a hazy orange-amber with a white head. Nose is nice malt, lemon and citrusy hops, Belgian yeast, pepper, and slight fruit. Flavor is similar- nice malt, big citrus, some pepper, yeast and fruit. Sweetness. Medium in body and interesting.
