Guerde (491), Welcome, Minnesota, USA Nov 1, 2007 (growler thanks Skyview) Pours dark amber with an off-white head. Weak aroma, but what’s there is a slight toasty note. Sllight caramel up front and then a large finish of rye. BDR (1929), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Oct 30, 2007 As usual, thanks to Skyview for sharing his growlers. Brown body with no head. Caramel malt with plenty of rye. Flavor was a rye bomb. Dry finish. Light mouth feel. OSLO (614), ...moving to Virginia soon..., Minnesota, USA Oct 28, 2007 [Growler, thanks Skyview] Pours dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma is weak and to me disappointing. Some malt, a little sweet at the end. Taste is really big rye. Medium mouthfeel. Good finish. JK (2501), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Oct 27, 2007 From Skyview’s growler. A simple beer, but the rye flavor is intense. I have never had a beer with so much rye. Malt as well, overall this is quite dry. Quite smooth on the palate. A very well made beer. Skyview (2932), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Sep 9, 2007 On draught at the brewpub in West Bend, Wisconsin. Pours a clear dark penny amber brew with a thin light tan head that slowly dissolves and leaves behind a good lacing and ring. Aroma of light caramel malt, maple syrup, a touch of brown sugar and some earthy spice. Taste is medium bodied, very light carbonation with a dry toasted multi-grain malt with some sweet brown sugar flavor. Finish is slightly dry with a dry multi-grain flavor in the aftertaste. Very little bitterness in this specialty brew.
