Draft at brewpub. Attractive ruby brown. Nice beige head. Nice roastiness with a light smokiness. The best of the brews on my visit. Easily the best beer they had on my visit.

Pours to a deep mahogany body with a disapating white head. The aroma is deep roasted malt and coffee with some smoke. The flavor is quite roasted with lots of coffee and some peaty smoke. Astringent char. The palate is medium bodied and smooth.

On tap at the Riverside Brewpub in West Bend. Clear dark mahogany with a thin brown head. Aroma of deep roasted malts, coffee and light chocolate. Taste of dark roasted malts, light chocolate and coffee. Chalky with a dry, astringent and mildly bitter finish. I’ve seen better days.

On tap at the Riverside Brew Pub. Poured a dark brown color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, and light coffee. Tastes of roast, toasted malts, chocolate, and light coffee. Lacing left on the glass. Thinner body.

On nitro draught at the brewpub in West Bend, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear dark brown brew with a creamy tan head that has some excellent retention and lacing from the nitro charge. Aroma of toasted dark malt, a touch of chocolate and coffee character with some light flowery hops. Taste is smooth, creamy, medium to full bodied with flavors of toasted dark malt, a good balance of some light chocolate and coffee. Finish is semi-dry with a toasted dark malt aftertaste that lingers around after the finish.
