Bottle poured into glass at mumu grill. Pours hazy deep orange gold with resilient off white decent sized tight head. Passionfruit, pine, citrus and tropical fruit on the nose atop of a light caramel malt character. Hops at the forefront. Body is medium-light, a touch of malt character, but a fruit salad of hops are there with a medium flavour and bitterness. ABV well cared for, however some odd flavours; salty, mineral and light veg are apparent on the finish. Overall well done. Pity the Americans do them so much better.

330ml bottle. Opaque, pale amber / copper colour with frothy, beige head which reduced to a ring but left some nice lacing. Pleasant but restrained and balanced aroma of citrus, tropical fruit, caramel and malt. Light to medium sweetness and similar bitterness. Light to medium body, thin texture, soft carbonation and some resin in the finish. Not bold enough to be considered an American style IPA but decent enough on its own merits and perilously drinkable at 7.7abv. 7.

Bottle (12 months aged): Hazy, cloudy, copper brown with a light head and a little lace. The aroma is very lifted with malt and sweet citrus hops. Loads of caramel. Dry, not sour but a slightly acid edge due to co2 and moderately high bitterness. Loads of caramel on the palate. Huge CO2 and very creamy. Lots of yeast and fruit aromatic ally and on the palate. Some dried fruit also present. This is a very English style of IPA. I really find this style very interesting and unique compared to the U.S. IPA.

Pours a golden colour with a substantial head. The aroma is of resin and bitterness is moderate that is medium-lasting on the palate. Another good quality beer from Riverside.

Draught at the Oriental Hotel, Tumut. Pours a hazy medium amber, with a moderate off-white head, which lasts well and leaves good lacing. Resin and citrus hops mingle with nutty malt in the aroma. Floral and resin hops up front are backed by a solid malt backbone, with plenty of nutty and toffee notes. Citrus hops come through in the finish. All in all a good malty style of IPA, although not as highly hopped as one expects in a beer of this style.

330ml bottle into pint glass. Floral hop nose, some spicy notes too. Cloudy copper beer with thin off-white head. Beautiful bitter taste with excellent body. Finish is hoppy and short. Great beer, hides its 7.7% well. Gimme another!

Muggus69 (1499) - Yarram, Vic, AUSTRALIA - JAN 30, 2015
330mL bottle from Beer Cartel Hazy orange gold body, firm white foam. Hoppy nose; woody spice, dried leafy herbs, stone & tropical fruits, earthy, bitter citrus undertones with a good measure of biscuity, carame malt. Full body, good weight that obviously means business, with some slickness & smooth carbonation. Big malty body with notes of caramel, toast & biscuit, supports big hop flavours of pine, earthy spice, cooked tropical fruits, melon & grass. Slight warmth on a relatively tame (for an AIPA) bitter finish. Good drop, on par with most of its American counterparts.

A very enticing aroma is not let down by the full bodied nicely balanced flavour. On excellent brew and one of the best Australian IPA’s I’ve had.

Squealer from TruBru. Pours a lovely ruby amber with a fine off white head. Nose is lovely, fresh, resinous hops. Grapefruit and strong pine. Flavor is very citrusy, a bit of caramel. Bitter finish with some really mild biscuit. Not too complex, but tasty and well made.
