A beautiful deep golden colour, our Golden Ale is a fusion of American and English pale ale styles. Crisp and hoppy, it is bursting with citrus flavours and aromas.

Cloudy golden color, fluffy white head. Fresh, hoppy, herbal scent. Malty, herbal, bitter taste. Bitter aftertaste. Medium to fizzy mouthfeel, medium to medium high bitterness.

From a 330ml bottle on 18/9/2015. Pours a slightly cloudy golden with a small head. Has aroma of citrsu fruit and bready malt.In the mouth there’s lots of orange and lemon, some sweet malt, followed by a quite firm, sharp bitterness. Medium bodied with quite lively carbonation. Quite tasty but let down a bit by a hint of harshness in the finish.

From 330 ml bottle. Pours a clear amber with a tight white head and lively carbonation. Aromas are very light but there’s some pepper, flowers and baked apple. Taste is a little sweet malt up front before a light prickly pepper and orange note comes through. Falls away at the back leading to a clean finish. Gentle bready aftertaste. Not bad but a bit underwhelming.

330 ml bottle into schooner glass. Wild floral hops out of bottle, strong passion fruit nose. Small white head on cloudy orange body. Nice taste! Grapefruit/bitter lemon. Nice lingering note of citrus. This is good.

Bottle from Slowbeer (also sampled on tap at Brewery). Slightly hazy golden, big frothy head, a really nice easy drinking beer, some bready/cereal malt, subtle piney/fruity hops. Good one.

Bottle - golden with a big white head. Soapy floral hop aroma, also something fruity, not sure what kind sort of berry and citrus? Floral hop follows through into the taste, very little bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Good beer.

Bottle cheers to Owen. Nothing much to say here besides the fact that what it has been made for it has done well. Very approachable and easy going and clean. Exactly what a golden ale should be. Solid stuff

At just on cool and into a snifter. Radiant, fiery orange with high carbonation - hazes over once the yeast goes in. A good two inches of rocky, mountainous foam settles atop and needs to b gnawed off to imbibe. Soft pine-needle and biscuity, toasted malt dominated nose with a touch of granola, dried fruit and orange peel coming through. Woody, nutty and piney on the palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation and a foamy, dry texture that lifts it slightly. Peanut husks, dried fruit peel and earthy, dried herbs in the back. Bitterness is low but works in well. A tangy hit of orange juice builds on the sides of the tongue - luckily avoids becoming cloying. Easy session stuff but not as well balanced and complex as Riverside’s other ales. Still a solid effort! (33cL, fresh batch, no date stamp, Cellarbrations Carlisle)
