In separate lands, and separate cellars, these two breweries sent millions of tiny funkronauts to party into each otherís cellars, creating vibrant flavors brought from another world. Minerality, tartness, sweetness, and acidity all dance playfully with the malt, hops and fruit of host beers, aging splendidly. Funk Vessel blends worlds and blurs lines, sharing the intergalactic funk of a microscopic dance party. One Galaxy; Funk Vessel

Great tasting sour! You really get the aged wine barrel taste. I would not try this beer if this is your first sour beer. Very strong, sour taste! Great beer Cheers!

Bomber from a trade a while back. Earthy dirty funk aroma. Sour acid and tart red fruit. Hops a little more present than many a sour I have come across and especially on the finish. Little bit of stinky cheese on the back of the palate as well. Interesting drink.

Bottle (Thanks DA for sharing this one)... Poured hazy, amber/brownish with a thin, off-white head. Aroma of acetone and barrel with some wine-like woody tones. Thick mouthfeel with lots of sour patch, sweet tart flavors. A harsher acidity and tartness towards the finish dried it out. Fruit and candied-like sweet flavors worked with some wood-like, vinous wine notes. Good flavors, just a tad harsh with acidity.

22 oz. bottle, thanks to Treebute. Pours a clear, bubbly orange color, with a medium, bubbly, fleeting, beige head. The aroma is caramel, raspberries, cardamon, some tannins, and a light earthiness. Very tart, with a nice fruity sweetness. Medium body, acidic, sharp, and metallic. Overall, this is a nice, vinous and tart beer, but lacks complexity.

Bottle shared by Tony. Pours hazy copper color with off white head. Sour, funky aroma. Very acetic lemon flavor with some citrus and wood. Medium body with lively carbonation.

Belmont bottle. The color is copper and bronze with just a white ring around the top. Big aroma of acetic acid and sour fruit that waters your mouth. Almost a hint of spice too. Nice flavor of sour apples, lemon citrus and a hit of booze in the finish. Tasty.

Poured into a tulip out of a 22oz bomber. Pours a clear deep brownish-red with just the tiniest hint of fizz. Not much carbonation to this one but sometimes that is not a bad thing. Aroma right off the bat lets you know this one is going to be quite tart. Very minerally that almost borders on metallic. Some strawberry and cherry notes along with a slight hint of vanilla. Not a big shot of funkiness that I was expecting. Very vinous, mineral character in the flavor. Huge tartness that is enough to sting the nose. Lots of cherry with vanilla even more prominent, Iím assuming from the barrel aging. Some light, prickly carbonation on the tip of the tongue nicely compliments the tartness. Mouthfeel is light and silky finishing quite dry. Vanilla/wood lingers for a long while. Overall, the more I sip on this the more I like it. It is a bit of a shock up front with the tartness but the finish lingers for what seems like forever. If you love sours you really need to give this one a shot.

UPDATED: MAR 3, 2014 650 ml. Clear amber-orange with a small ring of cream. Nose is tart berries and cherries with touches of cream, earthy vinegar, river rock and toasted oak. Tastes of tart cherry, light vinegar, lemon, earthy brown sugar, a touch of minty green herb, sour cream and oak. Long finish of lemon and mineral board becomes a little distracting, but otherwise this is really tasty. Light-medium body is a tad too fizzy, but has a decent balance for a sour.

Bottle. Poured a hazy dark copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy sour fruit and small hop aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy sour flavor with a medium to heavy sweet & sour finish of moderate duration. This is a solid change of pace beer for style.

Bottle - Pours hazy amber with no head. Aggressively sour nose with melon, honey, lemon--crazy weird. Taste is better, with lots of weird fruitiness, sour balsamic vinegar, funky and bitter. Thick and slick in the mouth. Yeah...didnít like this one too much.
