Quite strong initially but mellows as the session continues. Goes down pretty easy. OK with me. You’d never know it was over 5%!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 b3shine (2230) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 20, 2012
Bottle to pint. Looks solid; a transparent orangish-brown with off-white lacing. Smells malty and roasty. Tastes like it smells with less roast. Average on the palate. Alright.

on tap at Buckeye, the caramel malt overpowers this whole beer, no hops, just caramel sweetness, really really unbalanced
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 rondphoto (980) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - MAY 10, 2012
Clear medium amber with a fast disappearing head and isolated specks of lace. The taste is caramel and more caramel with very little carbonation. It’s only early May, but this may be past its best-by date. Not very impressive.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2012 Pours a clear gold/amber color with a small white head. Not what I expected this one to look like. Aroma of toasted malt and dark fruit, maybe molasses. Flavor of sweet malts, grains, grassy? Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a grainy mouthfeel. Not the best bock. Rivertown is starting to show up in my area, so I hope some of their other offerings are better than this one.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JaBier (3729) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - APR 6, 2012
Botle purchased at Party Town. Clear amber pour with a medium tan head. Malty and sweet aroma with caramel, bread and some nuts. Malty, sweet and a bit nutty flavor with a bready, sweet finish.

Coppery-amber....with only a slight ring of white.
Scent is fruity, sweet.
Taste is caramel, fruit......actively carbonated.....
Drinks incredibly light and smooth. The alcohol content is absolutely hidden.
A really nice beer.

12oz bottle -pours amber/caramel with thin off white head. Nose is caramel malts. Flavor is more caramel malts and adds a bready character. taste is sweet but lightly at that. easy to drink. possibly my favorite Riivertown brew yet (Dunkel excluded).
