Draft at Cooper’s Deli. This is pretty true to form for a helles. Nice malty notes and a touch of sweetness. I really like this brewery.

Bottle purchased at Party Town. Clear gold pour with a thick white head. Mostly malty nose with crisp noble hops and some breadiness. Sweet and bready malt flavor with crisp noble hops before a sweet finish. Solid helles; not boring.

Pours a very pale cloudy yellow with a big frothy heady. Cloudy from all the suspended yeast. The head mellows any aroma but the taste and mouthfeel are light. Crisp grassy hops are noted.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Onslow (927) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - FEB 7, 2012
Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Pale yellow / brew brew, lightly cloudy. Aroma of butter-sugar cookies with grahma cracker overtones. Sweet and buttery - malt and diacetyl? Taste follows the aroma - sweet butter cookie, no discernable hops or bitter in the finish, though it does not ent terribly sweet. Not unpleasant but a bit odd and cloying.
Second bottle - well, this is odd. The second bottle in the sampling is completely different. Very pale yellow brew, none of the brown color. None of the buttery taste. Aroma is light malts, a little corn, a bit of grassy hops. Taste is very light malts with a bit of grassy hops bitter in the finish. A less odd brew more similar to a mainstream macro.
Two bottles drunk just minutes apart, both from the same sampler pack.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 wnoble (920) - French Lick, Indiana, USA - JAN 25, 2012
Well I don’t really know what to expect from a helles. pours a very deep golden. Head is small and white but fades quick to nothing. Nose is very sweet malty bread like character but almost some caramel body in the nose as well. Flavor is again some darker kilned or sweet sweet caramel malts and finishes fairly dry. Almost some hops mixed in with the flavor. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Not a huge fan but nothing off with it at all. I think its just the style.

Murky straw colored with a freakishly huge, frothy head. Mildly sour grains, honey, and graham cracker nose with some quick notes of black pepper at the end. Lightly sweet flavor, thankfully no flavors of sour grains or corn, though there is a little bit of light metallics and stale cardboard. Watery palate with light carbonation. Finish is a tad dry. Overall, rather flavorless yet inoffensive.

Twelve ounce bottle from Rivertown variety 12 pack purchased at Remke/biggs in Delhi and tasted on January 29, 2011. Cloudy gold color, sweet grainy/yeasty nose, very small head that didn’t last, good sweet malty flavor with some hop tang and a sweet sugary-like finish. Pretty good.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 garrison (717) - Cin. city, Ohio, USA - OCT 9, 2011
Purchased at Remke/Biggs in Cincinnati, Ohio - Alright, this one filled my lager glass with lightly hued golden brew with a fast fading white head of foam and a slight bread aroma. Tastewise, this is a fine Helles with the doughy taste and lasting body, but that was never my style.
