3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft to taster at Rivertown. Looks good; burnt-orange with good carbonation and off-white head. Smells solid; appropriately hopped for an APA. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. A good example of the style, and WAY better than the bottled version.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Stubby bottle and served in no-nik pint glass: Clean deep golden hue with a lasting big frothy head and left very nice lace upon the glass. The aroma has notes of dusty and wet grains, slight herbal hops, some soapy notes and little else. The taste has a weird acidity of a bottle going bad, additionally if there is 60+ IBU in this beer than I am a monkeys uncle. It comes off more akin to an English ESB than an American Pale Ale. Dusty and tannic spent pale malts and a touch of crystal and rye. The mouth feel is chalky and metallic, not all that enjoyable. Another beer from this brewery I will pass on... really this is the best you can do?

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle sampled Jul 16, 2012 - Pours lightly hazy amber-orange with a small light tan head. The aroma is of citrus hops and indistinct grainy/bready malt. It tastes at least moderately bitter, maybe more, and is balanced by malts that lend it a medium body and good balance. The finish is definitely on the bitter side. Pretty good.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Andy. Appearance is much darker than most PA’s. Dark amber, almost copper. Aroma is that of spicy malts and dry hops. This pale is malty and spicy from the rye with a nice hop finish. Tastes very much like a Christmas ale. Different and pretty good.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Thanks to drowland for this. Pours a medium amber with a light off-white head, brief lacing. Aroma has that same funky butterscotch essence that the Helles Lager had - house flavor perhaps? Flavor has some decent spicy notes, a hint of citrus bitterness. The butterscotch found in the Helles creeps its way into the back end. Decently thick mouthfeel. Just on the low end of decent.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
6/23/12. 12oz bottle via b3shine! Clear light amberish pour with a small khaki head. Mild fruity aroma with perfumey aspects and loads of caramel malt. Buttery caramel flavor again with floral and perfumey aspects. Eh.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at the Cleveland Indians game - Pours cloudy red with a small head. Has a piney hop flavor to it but I wouldn’t refer to it as a hop bomb. Would be a fairly balanced beer except the finish was slightly watery.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Mildly hazed copper-amber with a medium airy lacy tan topper. Aroma of caramel, grains, rye, malt and light hops. Taste of rye, roasted malts, faint chocolate and caramel. Light bitterness. So-so and not deserving of its name.

Not to shabby. Nice spice to it. Always a fan of wheat beers, nice way to balance out the hops.
