3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Dogbrick (6058) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 31, 2013
Sample at Lizardville. Black pour with a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt and coffee. Light-bodied with a roasty character of coffee and malt, with a slightly tart fruit flavor in the background. The finish is roasty with a coffee aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Chuckaduck (490) - Kentucky, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Pour dark brown with a nice, fluffy light brown head. Aroma is creamy, roasty and a little chalky. Taste is dry; creamy and roasty with a light coffee finish. Oily. Some nice lacing. Not bad but not flavorful enough.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 thedm (4773) - Fort Wayne, USA - DEC 30, 2012
This bottled brew from a restaurant poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized light brown colored bubbles that were and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque dark brown colored body. The aroma was roasted malt and toasted malt. The semi-flat mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish with a biting roasted malt hop aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of roasted malt mild hops and dark malt. A decent one that I would consider buying again.
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20 fauxpunker (76) - Florence, Kentucky, USA - SEP 22, 2012
Maybe a bad batch, but very, very over-carbonated. Every bottle practically exploded upon opening and each pour was consumed with tons of foam as a result. More on the bitter side and dry. Maybe if someone else spends the money, I’ll try it again. Definitely not a re-purchase for me.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 gizmo_ber (116) - - SEP 15, 2012
Taster at the brewery. Dark pour, slight head. Good mouthfeel, but seems to lack some of the stout roasted/coffee flavoring, or maybe I’ve had too many coffee stouts lately.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 b3shine (2249) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 6, 2012
Draft to taster. Looks good; black with nice head. Smells alright; lightly Marty. Tastes decent with an average mouthfeel. Okay, but I wouldn’t seek it out again.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 JaBier (3737) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - APR 18, 2012
Bottle purchased at Party Source. Darkest brown pour with a huge tan head. Creamy malt and chocolate nose with a strange oxidized and lightly infected odor. Malty flavor with some slight funk that doesn’t belong before a dry, roasty coffee finish. Must have gotten a bad bottle and by looking at the other ratings, that doesn’t seem all that uncommon. Will try again when a fresh batch comes out.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 steelhead3686 (185) - Athens, Ohio, USA - APR 17, 2012
Pours pitch black with a nice rich caramel head. Light to medium roast aroma with a hint of chocolate and coffee. Slight bitter with a medium to heavy sweetness. The body is medium to full with a creamy, thick texture and a somewhat sweet finish. This porter is pleasing to the eye and mouth and it is one that I will buy again, even if it has to be at the bar.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Chudwick (1086) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - MAR 16, 2012
12oz bottle - pours black with light brown head and tiny trace of lacing. Nose is roasted caramel malts and coffee. Flavor is a disappointment - I don’t know what it is but it accelerates the dryness (seemingly artificially). I have a feeling I will drink the other 5 as a last resort.
