22 ounce bottle
Rivertown is an enigma. On the one hand their beers disappoint far too often. On the other they occasionally get something just right. This one is solidly right in the middle. If you are looking for an American sour this is in the ballpark. If you want a Belgian lambic experience then scroll past this expensive bottle.
Aroma / Appearance - A rich deep orange body glows with the color of dying embers. Icy sheer legs crawl down the sides. Strong raspberry is accented by a mild vinegar texture. This is not intense at all compared to many sours.
Flavor / Palate - Musty chocolate and blackberries tickle the tongue with the promise of more. It never delivers as this mild sour is pretty predictable after a few sips. It might be one of their better offerings; that said it is also an expensive one. If you want some Cincinnati ticks look towards the other breweries in the area first.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (22 oz). Shared by cparles, thanks Chris! Clear golden/orange with a medium quickly fading white head and little lacing. Aroma is mild but interesting with blackberries, light funk and some oak notes. Taste is slightly sweet with blackberries, light funk and light oak. Light body. Light to moderate carbonation. Slightly dry. Winey notes. Not like a Belgian lambic, but still a pretty nice American Sour who was not out of place even despite being drank after a 3F Oude Geuze Vintage. Super drinkable.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Very clear pink gold copper pour with wuickly receding white head. Leafy raspberry aroma, blackberries, light funk, a tad perfumy/soapy. Mild but long lasting sourness, mild fruitiness, tart and even a bit soapy to taste. Light palate, mineral-like feeling, bone dry. Good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The beer is hazy and golden with a small white head. The aroma offers blackberries, Iambic type funk, citrus, perhaps a touch of wine. Nice flavor. Tart and funky. Grape skins, berries, oak, vanilla. Well-balanced. Relatively light in body with a tangy finish. Another nice beer from the folks at Rivertown.
