Draft. The best American lambic I have tried and rivals many of the European ones also. A muted pink color with a small white head. Aroma and taste is funky, sour, very tart with some fruitiness. Finish is lasting and moderately dry. While I complained that their original lambic was a beginners this one is a graduate level lambic.

Tasted on 7/25/14 from a 64oz growler purchased at Craft Brewed. Pours fiery red/orange with an average pink-tinged head that slowly recedes to average, bubbly lace. The nose is a really nice blend of traditional lambic style citrus tartness with a mixture of both fresh pomegranate and more candied grenadine, along with a very light and very lightly toasted oak aroma. The flavor is a bit stronger on the tart, somewhat abrasive side, with the pomegranate, grenadine, and oak showing lightly sweet on the back of the palate. This really is reminiscent of a traditional fruited lambic. The body is medium with some grippy tannin, fairly light carbonation, and a long tart and lightly sweet pomegranate and touch of oak on the finish.

Draft at Dutch’s. Pours a hazy pinkish, purple, orange color with a small lightppink head. The aroma and flavor have tart pomegranate and berries, lactic, moderate acidity, solid funk, I really enjoy their lambics and gueuze and wish they did more of them, finishes tart to sour pomegranate, light woody character with lingering acidity.

At to snifter at Dutchs. Looks good; a translucent pomegranate seed color with eggshell head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells tart and fruity with a strong lacto presence. Tastes like it smells, but the lacto is more balanced. Pleasantly lively on the palate. Good stuff.

Draught at Beer Trappe. Tart and puckery with an orange body and a nice fruit finish. Very good!

Sample at the sour event at World of Beer Brewery District on 5/25/14. Hazy red in color, like grapefruit juice, with a thin off-white head. Aroma of sour citrus and acidic vinegar with slight tropical fruit and malty sweet notes. Pomegranate flavor up front giving way to oak before a sour and acidic finish.

Draft. Dusty pomegranate and wheat malt aroma. Murky ruby red with moderate head. Sweet-tart pomegranate and lemon malt flavor. Dry, musty finish. Excellent.

GABF. Light pink pour, off white head. Sour and pretty damn tasty. Pomegranate, funky and sour. Soft on the tongue. This is good stuff.

GABF 2013. Pours a hazy pinkish purple appearance with a pinkish head. Tart berry, vanilla, funky, barnyard, light cheesy nose. Pretty sour, pomegranate, blackberry, a bit lactic, funky flavor that finishes pretty sour. Kind of a cool beer.

Sample at Jackie O’s as part of Ohio Brew Week. This Lambic pours a heavily hazed pinkish-orange color with a thin white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Fruity aroma of pomegranate and berries. Medium-bodied with a mildly funky pomegranate character and notes of wheat and yeast. The finish is moderately sour with a tart fruity aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2014 On tap during Ohio Brew Week 2013, taster from Jackie-Os. Cloudy, pinkish orange red color. Good thin white head, couple bits of lace. Kind of a bigger body. Smoother, lighter (but substantial) softer carbonation. Nice, bigger tart taste, light sweet. Definite bigger pomegranate aroma. Good pomegranate lambic. 7/4/7/4/14

Re-rate on tap at Dutch’s 6/10/14: Awesome hazy dark red color. Thin ring of off-white head, a couple bits of lace. Good bigger sour taste, close to puckering. Good big tart pomegranate fruit flavor, and funky oaky lambic aromas. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. Slick finish, mouthwatering quality. Nice big sour fruit lambic. Refreshing, tasty, interesting and bold.
