Had this on tap at the East Nashville Beer Festival. Pours a reddish brown with a strong aroma of chocolate and vanilla that is very enticing. Mild roasty character and incredibly easy to drink. I was impressed with my first beer from Rivertown.

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a dark brown to black with a two finger light tan head that fades into a ring pretty quick with a small amount of lacing that slides down into the beer almost immediately. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, vanilla and roasted malts. Taste is big toasty malts and vanilla up front with the chocolate and coffee coming in big right behind them. Very well balanced. Finish is a bit too quick for me, but the bittering hops come through with a roasted malt aftertaste. Full body but not too heavy. Texture is sticky and a little thin. Carbonation is lively and active. Overall a great aroma and taste that is well balanced. Very well done!

Dark beer with a small fizzy cocoa colored head. Dusty chocolate nose. Lots of chocolate flavors with some coffee notes and some artificial vanilla flavor. Long sweetened coffee finish. Okay porter.

Draft at Luckyís - Dayton. A delicious, chocolate-based porter. Iím talking big-time chocolate. Milky, dark, rich. Served on nitro, so that helped quite a bit. Nice warm-up on a cold winter evening in Ohio. (#4950, 2/28/2013)

Nice dark pour with a large tan head. Nice array of aromas, vanilla stands out, but there are also nice roasted tones of coffee as well. The flavor is well balanced, starts out with the sweet roasty malt and bitter coffee, finishes with a touch of vanilla. Very smooth mouth feel, the relatively high alcohol content is not noticeable. Overall a very nice winter beer.

Draft pour opaque black with brown hues. Nose with bready sweetness. Initial taste almost cream soda, some milk chocolate, and lots of vanilla. Very creamy mouthfeel for this tap pour.

Tap at Cincy Beerfest. Earthy chocolate, dark fruit, and roasty malt aroma. Deep mahogany with a small beige head. Sweet chocolate - a little like Nestle Quick - and light toasty malt flavor. LIght body, soft carbonation.
