3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle. I’ve been looking forward to this one. Very dark brown color, stops just short of being opaque. Thin light tan head, fading to minimal, then disappearing entirely halfway through. Awesome aroma, espresso, chocolate, vanilla, cream. Some hops through the finish, gives the coffee-taste a further bitter boost. Savory-sweetness, it is indeed very much like a flavor-packed brownie. Carbonation is a bit sharp, I would have probably liked this better if it was a bit more subdued. There is no denying that this is an extremely delicious porter, however. Fantastic aftertaste... Really impressed overall. This brew, along with their "Hop Baron", have earned Rivertown some respect in my book.
