Brown to black pour with minimal head. Aroma of sweet chocolate and coffee. Taste is similar. Nice sweetness balanced with bitter. Need to try again.

Itís been a long time since we had this, but I have to add to the system. We gave 3.5 so it was above average and liked the chocolate and slight vanilla. It was a little coffee but not much, and almost a bitter nut taste. Tap

Pours dark brown with an off white head. Lots of vanilla, cinnamon, and toffee in the nose. Lots of vanilla flavor...almost entirely vanilla...surprised it isnít better balanced with the coffee...or the uhhh, porter. Medium mouthfeel with that vanilla astringent aftertaste. An alright beer...the base beer isnít good enough to hold up to the vanilla...and im not sure what makes this "imperial" at under 8%.

Roebling espresso vanilla imperial porter. lots of words. Rich dark brown brew with a very fine almost not there head of tan bubbles. The aroma is slightly sweet vanilla over a richly roasted dark chocolate malt. Taste is initially a bit sweet but resolves into a nice roasted dark chocolate and black coffee with a bit of cream bitter. body is full and silky. a very decent porter.

On tap pours black with tan head. Had a nitro version on tap not sure if the usual is usually a nitro. Really good, coffee, vanilla, chocolate, toffee. Very roasty then finished sweet.

This is a tasty brew. Alcohol taste and aroma are upfront and make this beer seem like more than 7.5abv. Chocolatety on the palate with a nice finish of vanilla and sweet fruity notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2015 Labeled as Vanilla Espresso Imperial Porter Tallahassee, Fl - New Leaf Market - 12 oz bottle. Purple leaning to black pour, off white head, no lace. Creosote, licorice, and chocolate in the aroma.Flavor has some espresso accents, chocolate , licorice, biscotti biscuits and vanilla presence permeating throughout. Nice, thick, rich mouthfeel. Rather enjoyed this one. .

Thanks to drowland for this.Pours a deep dark brown fading to black, light off-white head. Aroma has some nice earthy black topsoil essence to it, with a touch of licorice. Flavor has some coffee, a hint of licorice, some earthy black dirt essence. Mouthfeel is slightly dry and chalky which is nice. Best of the bunch from Rivertown that drowland shared with me - but still has a touch of that butterscotch noted in their other beers - just mixes in well in this case. .
