3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at Land O Lakes WOB. Pours a very dark brown with a touch of red along the edges. Virtually zero head to speak of with the exception of a tiny island in the middle. Aroma has a good bit of vanilla and roasted malt with a hint of funkiness similar to a mild sour. Flavor is quite nice with the roasted notes really coming through in the finish. The higher alcohol is well hidden.

Draft: my favorite local porter. Pours a dark brown with a tan head, aromas of chocolate and nice roasty coffee. Smooth body and a very nice sweet, roasty chocolate flavor. Delicious!

Strong coffe and vanilla aroma. Robust flavor and very filling. Sweet and some alcohol warming effects. I probably would’ve enjoyed more in the winter

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown, almost black body under a minimal fizzy brown head. The nose is on the sweeter side, licorice and burnt caramel mostly, with some roast and coffee. The flavor is fairly sweet as well, a fair amount of dark caramel and licorice. A little too sweet for me actually. Finishes with some burnt malt, caramel, roast, and a little coffee. Medium bodied and a touch clingy with light fizzy carbonation. Ok beer, but not the best among the style.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
The aroma is chocolatey with burnt malt, coffee, and brown sugar. The appearance is dark brown with no head. The taste is bitter-sweet and very one dimensional. The palate is average. Overall a bit disappointing but it smells nice.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours nearly flat dark brown with just a hint of a ring of tan. Smell is kind of unattentuated sugars, with mild sweet vanilla and coffee beans. Taste is actually much better than nose. Sweet milkshake like vanilla, light coffee bean, and more sugar. Kind of like an ice coffee. No carb though, but it doesn’t detract too much.
