2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - Betton - 12 oz bottle. Medium gold, slightly hazy, quickly diminishing white head. Lemons, a brief hint of cloves in the aroma. Flavor has some light pear-like fruity accents, a light touch of yeast, some light banana. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Would be a good summer refresher.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a weizen. Pours hazy tawny with medium white head. Nice floral aroma, medium body, medium carbonation, and thick big bubble lacing. Taste is floral hops, piney hops, bitter finish. Not my thing.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Squat, slope-shouldered longneck with an OK plasticky label. Aroma is rather bland, and whatís there is sweaty with undertones that remind me of Pla Do or modeling clay for some reason. Foggy, light blonde. Filmy head that leaves tiny, pinstripe legs on the sides of the glass. Limp mouthfeel, thin, under-carbonated. Starchy, lightly hopped, generally dry tasting. Unentertaining. ABC Liquors, Betton.

orange-yellow, a little cloudy but not the yeast brigade of some hefeweizens. Smells a little sour. Weird. Tastes like not much. Smallest bit of fruitiness but overall nondescript. Mediocre.

Bottle. Oh man was I disappointed. From a city of traditional Germans. This stuff was awful. Hefeweizen needs to be hefeweizen and not mixed with a pilsner. Put this one to bed.

if you are going to call it a hefe, make it a hefe. this is another example of an american brewer trying to put their spin on a classic style. its better than some, but the hops are just barely too much, and i get none of the banana, clove or bubblegum flavor of a traditional hefe. its ok, i wouldnt pick it up again, especially if im in the mood for the real deal.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Gold pour with white head. Aroma is wheat and floral. Flavor is sweet malt, a paper bitter, a floral finish. Pretty sweet finish as well. Medium body with decent carbonation. Not a lot like a hefe but ok.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cloudy orange with a quickly falling off-white head.
Light hop aroma.
The flavor is lightly bitter.
This comes off as a wheat pale ale.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy orange, with a ring if foam and a lot of yeast. Smells piney, more than anything. Smooth and kind of rich. Taste is crisp piney with a hint of sweetness. Not a whole lot of wheat character, actually. Seems like some sort of wheat IPA.

Single bottle from TJís. This was fine overall but far from a great wheat ale. You could definitely pick up the pilsner malt flavors. Hop bitterness was mild. Okay.
