3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Drjohnrock (288) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 19, 2013Poured from 12 ounce bottle from pick-your-own-six-pack at Finneytown Kroger. Cloudy gold/amber hue, small slightly off white head that slowly dissipated with little lacing, moderate sweet/spicy nose, nice bittersweeet flavor with spice and wheat, little banana and no clove. Not your typical hefeweizen--the wheat ale designation is probably more accurate--but quite nice.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 redlem (1264) - Ohio, USA - MAY 14, 2013
A hoppy hefe. I think the only hefe quality this has is upon the initial pour when you swirl the yeast in the bottom of the bottle and get that rush of foam in the glass. But after that, meh. A hazy honey color whit a thick white head. Aroma is of bread and there is an attempt on giving this a grassy hop taste but it just seems off. Having this makes me miss Capital’s Kloster Weizen even more and I wonder if there is a good American hefe out there.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20 Itzjerm (578) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - FEB 25, 2013
Nothing special here. No head, it is clear. But aroma and taste is mild to nothing. Very easy drinking and no imagination. skip it. Nothing worth the look here.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Block (1039) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - FEB 13, 2013
I’m not really sure what to say, just a regular american wheat beer. Not too flavorful. Easy to drink but not too flavorful.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jsquire (2953) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - DEC 9, 2012
Deep golden color out of the bottle with a foamy off white head. Light nose of wheat and sweet citrus hops. Thin malty beer with some grassy bitterness and a long red grapefruit finish. There was a hint of tartness in here but I didn’t get any hefeweizen spice. It was better as a beer with my grilled cheese sandwich than a stand alone drink.
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 ContemplateBeer (1140) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - NOV 10, 2012
Aroma of citrus, banana, light gum and sharp wheat. Appearance is tinted copper with scant white head. Flavor matches the nose; the use of American hops adds an astringent character to the finish. Palate is very bubbly and soft. Not as bad as some say, but not a standout, either.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 b3shine (2234) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 10, 2012
Draft to taster. Looks solid; a semi-transparent orange with white lacing. Smells mildly wheaty. Tastes like it smells with a hefe zip. Average on the palate. Okay.
2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 kramer (3876) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 11, 2012
Bottle. Pours a just slightly hazy straw yellow body with a small fizzy bright white head that faded to a thin film. The aroma isn’t exactly inviting, there’s a touch of soggy wet grain over the light pilsner malt base. Not a whole lot of hops in the aroma, maybe a bit of diacetyl even. The flavor is a bit off to me as well, it’s not clean at all. Some light band-aid and what tastes like autolyzed yeast comes out on the finish, it’s almost chemical like in nature. Light bodied but a little limp and flabby on the tongue. The more and more I have of this bottle, the heavier that chemical/off-flavor becomes on the finish. This isn’t a good beer.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 wlajwl (2901) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - SEP 17, 2012
Aroma and flavor is a mix of fruit/lemons and nutty malts. Interesting for a wheat ale.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 strangaj (250) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUN 11, 2012
This beer tastes like a malt liquor. I know this was not the intent, but the intended banana and cloves flavor that should accompany the yeast is stunted by too much malt, rendering a unique but not impressive take on this style
