COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Winter ale is a big, bold, thick-bodied ale brewed with molasses and cinnamon. It has a creamy head, robust hue, and rich bold flavor. Best served at 45F in a sniffer glass.

Bottle. Strong diacetyl aroma... smells like buttered popcorn. Clear chestnut with a small off-white head. Just as in the nose, huge diacetyl flavor. Got some issues here.

Pours a clear reddish with a barely there white head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, herbal; reminds me of a spiced cider. Taste is sweet; fruity, spicy. Some chewiness to the mouth feel. A bit different but not bad. My only concern is that it really doesnít fit its description that specifically. I didnít get any molasses, no head and I wouldnít call the flavor "rich" nor "bold". That being said, I would drink this again.

12oz bottle - pours clear amber with thin tan head and thin lacing. Nose is cinnamon. Flavor adds caramel and more spiciness. Sweet. Big mouth feel. Not what Iím looking for in a winter warmer. Unidirectional.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a somewhat hazed reddish amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of very sweet malts, dry bread, and mild spice. Flavor of ginger, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, dry grainy malts, and a vegetal note. Light-bodied, with a spicy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Some promise but sloppy.

Light for an ale, lots of spice, particularly cinnamon. Great aroma if you like a spiced ale. My wife's favorite ale, probably the only ale she likes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft to taster at Rivertown. Looks good; a hazy orangish-brown with off-white lacing. Smells and tastes solid; cinnamon and related spices with a semi-sweet backbone. Average on the palate. A pleasant version of the style.

This ale poured a cloudy deep amber colour with a quickly disipating, light tan coloured head. To the nose there are scents of ripe fruit, cider, apple pie, plastic and brown sugar. Quite complex bouquet. First sip was very carbonated with flavours of apple pie with cinnamon. This beer is literally apple pie in beer form. Medium bitter finish with cinnamon lingering on the pallet.

Muddy red color. No head. Musty spicy aroma with sweet malt taste. I want something with a little more pizzaz to it.

Pours a clear, amber color with a thin white head. No distinct aroma but a get a slight hint of malts and spice. It has an interesting sweet taste that is almost like drinking tea. The palate is not as advertised. It is not bold, thick-bodied, but it is light to medium in body and somewhat creamy at best. It is not as advertised, but it is a yummy beer and I would probably be willing to pay bar price for one.

Bottle. Cinnamon/pepper and malt aroma. Amber color with small head. Sweet light brown sugar, cinnamon and malt flavor. Balance is off. Too much spice and not enough malt.
