I shudder when I see that a beer is lapped in the spice/herb/veg category.
However, this is the best of that category that I can remember.
the pour is a nice amber, little to no white head.
The aroma is malty sweet.
This beer is best enjoyed on a cold winter day.
the finish is long and lingering. the flavor is malty with the seasonal spices that one would expect- Cinnamon, clove, nutmeg.

12oz bottle from jsquire. Pours a deep amber color with a finger of frothy tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of sweet black cherries, cinnamon, caramel, and roasted malts. Taste mimics the nose, with lots of roast, cinnamon, and tart cherry coming through.

Bottle, thanks Jeff! Pours a very dark brown with short lasting white head. Fairly intense aroma of cinnamon apple pie, buttery pie crust, and other spices. Medium body with a boat load of cinnamon in the mid-palate. Finishes with a buttery pie crust taste. Finishes with some bitterness.

12 oz. Lightly hazy copper with a small ring of bubbles. Nose is cherry, raisin bread and cinnamon graham crackers. Tastes of cherry, cinnamon, gingerbread with a touch of dry cocoa, and light finishing notes of white pepper and woody hops. Cinnamon gets to be a bit much near the bottom of the glass, but not nearly so much as some other spiced brews. Medium body is to the sweet side but the spice provides a dry-enough finish. Medium-high carbonation flares up a little too much but helps to keep things from getting too sticky. Nice little dessert/winter warmer sipper.

2/01/2014: Rivertown Winter Ale... Pretty appearance, but over-spiced and sicklingly sweet; the cinnamon and sweetness completely override the nice molsses and anything else that might be waiting to be discovered. Draught sample at Rhoerer’s Tavern in North Bend, Ohio. Rating #49 for this beer.

Pour dark brown with an off white head. Aroma of cinnamon, ginger, molasses. Taste is sweet, brown sugar, ginger, molasses, cinnamon, tastes like a gingerbread cookie. Nice to try but it’s too sweet to drink a lot of

bottle - Pours dark amber with a small, rapidly fading head. It has a spicy aroma and a sweet, malty flavor with cinnamon. It’s medium bodied and overall an okay but unremarkable brew.

Brown, no head. Smells like apple, cinnamon, and some other vaguely "winter" spices. Taste is, I don’t know, Wassail? Maybe? Lots of heavy, fruity and spicy flavors.

Pours a dark brown with a fleeting white head. Taste is very cinnamon forward with a bit of hop bitters. Worth a try.
