I shudder when I see that a beer is lapped in the spice/herb/veg category.
However, this is the best of that category that I can remember.
the pour is a nice amber, little to no white head.
The aroma is malty sweet.
This beer is best enjoyed on a cold winter day.
the finish is long and lingering. the flavor is malty with the seasonal spices that one would expect- Cinnamon, clove, nutmeg.

Took a gamble on what is not my favorite brewery here in Cincy, but I was pleasantly surprised! I really liked this caramel, molasses, butterscotch, and spice warmer. Smooth as hell, and the aroma is pumpkin pie. Thanks Rivertown. serving size 12oz bottle pour

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tallahassee, Fl - New Leaf Market - 12 oz bottle. Deep, dark brown pour, initial off-white head, not much lacing. Aroma reminds me of walking into a humidor - fresh and oaky, some light cinnamon to round it out. Rich, full-bodied flavor with some cinnamon, a hint of licorice, some brown sugar, some hints of cappuccino. Nice, thick mouthfeel. Solid winter warmer.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Soft Dentyne, malty, sweetish, sometimes powdery, doughnut aroma. Clear, dark tea colored pour. Squat 12 oz bottle, boring label. A ragged bitterness right up front, like chewing on a wooden cinnamon stick. Some vanilla notes, dry, warming. Medium body. Bitter finish. Just a chore to drink. Half drain pour. ABC Liquors, Betton.

1.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
12 oz bottle, poured into a shaker pint at room temperature.
A: Pours into the glass a sort of ruby-brown, not unlike a watered-down Mr. Pibb. The head is thin and a pale yellowish tan, and dissipates quickly, leaving only a ring. Bubbles rise steadily from the bottom of the glass in the clear brown fluid.
S: This may be one of the least appetizing aromas Iíve ever gotten from a beer. While there is sweet caramel malt involved, thereís something that resembles laundry - the sort of laundry thatís been sitting in the hamper damp for a while, but damp with sweat instead of water.
T: And once again, a Cincinnati brewery, proud of its traditional German heritage, chucks that out the window and hops the ever-living heck out of their beer. Some sort of leafy, nigh tobacco bitterness charges the tongue right out of the gate, biting and clawing and snarling. Somewhere in the midst of that fury, for a brief, shining moment, a burst of sweet caramel malt gets through - and then gets piledriven into hard concrete covered in shards of broken glass by MOAR LEEF HAWP. Throughout the tasting, thereís a decided tone of cinnamon to the whole thing, though it seems less involved in the drive-by bludgeoning of malt by hop and more casual bystander who wants nothing to do with the rest of the scene and is just keeping its head down while walking briskly away. The finish is, of course, leafy hops with cinnamon, because why change anything about the flavor at the very end?
M: Sparkly carbonation lends a touch of sharpness to the beer, so the hops arenít just beating the malt senseles, but shivving it in a dark alley for its wallet as well. The finish is watery.
O: Letís just say I am happy that this was one beer of a mix your own six, and move on with our lives. Weíll all be happier that way.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance was clear brown with creamy beige tiny diminishing head, no lacing. Aromas are malt driven with sugars, slight cinnamon and leather, no alcohol. Taste are sweet leathery malts with slight bootstrap sugar and cinnimon. Palate was soft CO2 with medium body, then lasting ashy sticky dryish off finish. Could be loads better.

12oz bottle from jsquire. Pours a deep amber color with a finger of frothy tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of sweet black cherries, cinnamon, caramel, and roasted malts. Taste mimics the nose, with lots of roast, cinnamon, and tart cherry coming through.

Bottle, thanks Jeff! Pours a very dark brown with short lasting white head. Fairly intense aroma of cinnamon apple pie, buttery pie crust, and other spices. Medium body with a boat load of cinnamon in the mid-palate. Finishes with a buttery pie crust taste. Finishes with some bitterness.
