Burnt orange with yellow hues, small, rimming whit head. Not much nose. Caramel, alcohol, mild hopes and nice body. Some brown sugar.

Sample at the brewpub. This beer pours a clear dark orange color with a thin light beige head that dissipates to a film quickly. Sticky large patches of lacing. Aroma of sweet malt and spices. Medium body with a nearly cloyingly sweet malt character, as well as notes of molasses and hops. The finish is sweet and leaves a lingering caramel malt aftertaste. Barely average overall.

Draught sample as Fireside Winter Warmer at the Pour House (listed as 6.7%). Mild aroma. Some brewed tea, light grassy hops and a bit of brown sugar. Toasted grain and paper. Dark amber orange clear with some haze and no head. Medium watery body with medium-high carbonation. Starts a little dry with some brown sugar and molasses. Hint of butter. Grassy floral hop bitter finish and dry nutty after.

FROTHINGSLOSH (6839) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 22, 2009
Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a ruby caramel color with a small tan head. The aroma was faint caramel and fruity hops. The flavor was bitter, tangy and fruity with notes of rough floral and fruity hops and a touch of caramel, nut and smoke underneath. The finish was long, bitter and roughly hoppy. Disappointing.

Sweeter, with some indications of higher alky content in the olfactory. Reddish orange in color and fairly clear. Tea froth head, if you want to call it a head. Rather strong on the palate, even more so than their springfest dubbel which is 8%. Barely any carbonation. Bitter medicinal finish that hangs.
