A beer so enticing you may think it’s nectar from the gods. The name "Hala Kahiki" (Hah-lah-kah-hee-kee), originates from the Hawaiian words for pineapple. Feel the way it rolls off your tongue? Our sweet and refreshing beer will take you away...have a sip...grab a lei!

Draft. Hazy to cloudy yellow color, medium white head. Aroma of pineapple. Taste is pineapple soda. More soda than beer.

Can shared by Dr Silverworm. Poured hazy yellow color with an average frothy white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy tart citrus aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate tart sweet flavor with a moderate sweet finish of medium duration. Good fruit brew.

Can... Pours murky and straw-colored with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. The aroma supplies loads of pineapple fruitiness, breadiness and a hint of funkiness. Medium-bodied and creamy with feather-soft carbonation. Sweet, fruity, pineapple and pale malt flavor. Finishes sweet, fruity and yeasty

12oz can. Poured a hazy yellow color with a white head. Juicy pineapples - pineapple juice. I’m not too crazy about pineapples, but if you are, you would probably like this a bit more than me.

This brew pours a hazy bright yellow color with a thin white head that burns away quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of tropical fruit and malt. Light-bodied with a strong pineapple flavor, with some toasted malt and mild spice in the background. The finish is fruity with a lingering pineapple flavor. I would almost peg this as a cider based on the flavor alone. Decent overall.

Can and draft from Capone’s and Craft Ale. Pours pineapple juice color and thickness and turbidity with minimal white head. Nose is like fresh Dole pineapple juice. Tastes of huge fresh pineapple juice, some malt. Finishes a bit odd, but this one is one of the more unique beers I have encountered, and worth a try.

I had some from the glass of my sister-in-law at Mellow-Mushroom in Hyde Park. She didn’t like it. Said it had a vomit quality. It pours a clear, light gold with a small white head. It actually does have some vomit/rancid cheese in the nose along with pineapple, sugar, and pale malts. The flavor is cleaner, with pineapple candy, straw, pale malts - almost like an undercarbonated pineapple soda. Light-bodied, with light carbonation and a sweet mouthfeel. Not very good. And I’m also not happy with the confusion this brewer’s entry into the Cincinnati market has caused because of our local brewer, Rivertown.

12oz can, shared. Mostly hazy pale whitish yellow color. Thin ring of white head. Couple bits of lace. Big canned pineapple juice in the nose. Flavor is kind of like a pineapple soda. I like it. Moderate sweet taste, lightly zesty. Some sugary sweetness. Light to medium body, smooth, kind of crisp carbonation. More dry finish. Good, enjoyable stuff. It is what it is. Pineapple beer. A pretty well-done fruit-forward pineapple beer, not bad...

This is actually pretty good. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a small white head. A big fruity pineapple nose. Bready straw base, massive sweet pineapple juice. Sugary. Fine for what it is.

(12oz can) Clear, very light gold pour, lasting filmy/coating fine white bubbles. Nose of fresh pineapple, wheat, fresh cracked grain, light stone fruit, and subtle spices. Taste is on the sweet side, but really, it’s a pineapple beer... shouldn’t it be? Taste reminds me of canned pineapple but in a good way, very much tastes like fruit, wheat, lightly spiced but only on the finish, bits of pineapple pulp (in taste, not texture), and perhaps a tiny bit of tartness lingering around too. Much better than I expected it to be, and quite refreshing. Probably wouldn’t down a 6-pack at one sitting, but 2-3 while out doing yard work? Absolutely.
