COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This modern, creative interpretation of a Belgian-white ale style is hop forward, or "laced" with hops. Hop-Lace, a White IPA made with sweet orange peel, Amarillo and Citra hops create a tight formation of "Belgian lace" leaving an intricate flavor that will have you clinging on for more.

Can: The aroma consists of Belgian yeast, orange peel, light bubblegum, and citrus hops. It pours a cloudy golden-orange with a lot of floaties. It has a one finger white head that has decent retention before finally settling to a thick foam. There is some sporadic soapy webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of citrus, Belgain yeast, and a touch of bubblegum. The finish has orange peel, citrus hops, light coriander, and a touch of floral notes. It’s light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel. Overall, this is a solid canned summer beer,

UPDATED: JUL 18, 2014 Sampled on draft this beer poured a murky pale yellow color with a small foamy white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was dry, tart, citric and perfumey. The flavor was dry, tart, bitter, musty, pepper, grapefruit,Windex, perfume and was somewhat astringent. Long finish. Medium body. Ok.

12 ounce can
Now that Rivertowne is canning I make it a habit to grab a few every now and then. They are not always that great but for $1.89 a single you could do worse than support a regional brewery. This particular white IPA has some nice Belgian aspects and is worth a sample at least if you run across it.

Aroma / Appearance - A cloudy body with warm golden presence shimmers in the glass. Fresh white head accompanies a nose of white pepper, spice, lemon custard, and vanilla cool whip.

Flavor / Palate - The fluid creamy mouthfeel opens with a burst of lemon custard and vanilla ice cream. The bright bitterness slowly unfolds on the tongue. A full bodied IPA retains a peppery finish. A decent release is on par with other Rivertowne beers - not great but far from the worst examples of a style.

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2014 Hop lace white IPA, briny, touch of rose petals, pine, light citrus. Very cloudy amber. From can. Multiple levels of bitter, 7 up start touch of grapefruit in the middle, coffee bitter strength finish. The bitter takes your saliva away.

Fairly decent white ipa. Nice lemony aroma. Flavor is nice. Hops finish a little bitter. Ratebeer has a seperate category black ipas and session upas, probably need one for white ipas now too.

Sample at 101 Beer Kitchen. Slightly hazy yellow-gold color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of citrusy hops, roast malt and subtle earthy yeast. The finish is moderately bitter with a grapefruit and hops aftertaste. Decent overall.
