COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In honor of our friend and mascot, Wylie the fish, we are hooking you up with an aggressively hopped India Pale, the staple for any fishing trip. This beer is a hop lover’s dream. Andrew Maxwell put over 1.5 decades of recipe development into this India Pale Ale, creating the fourth dimension of flavor. Combining four varieties of hops produces a unique beer that has an aggressive hop flavor, bite and aroma without denying the presence of malt which I.P.A.s often lack.

Draught at Monroeville: Aroma of dish soap, grapefruit, and hops. Poured amber in color with a small, off-white head that diminished but lasted around the edges. Slightly hazy. Not sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and light to medium bitter. Tastes of hops, pine, grapefruit, caramel malts, and a hint of toasting. Medium body. Lightly dry texture. Soft to average carbonation. Hoppy, lightly sweet, lightly bitter finish is lightly dry.

A pretty average IPA that tends more toward the bitter side, the malt does not balance all that well. There is a nice hop aroma and some fruity yeast notes come through as well. Very drinkable, and a good IPA but not a killer beer for this style.

Hazy amber brown color with nice foamy offwhite head. Aroma is caramel and citrus - pretty typical there. Flavor has a nice sweet caramel base with slight roastiness and good grapefruit citrus flavor. Lots of bitter hoppiness. Really good ipa.

Decent IPA. Nothing real special just an all around good beer. Well balanced with a dry finish.

Nice, nice APA aroma - balanced, not over-the-top. Caramel, toast, medium hoppy, medium sweet. Bitter, sweetish. One of the best brewpub examples of the style that has largely been rode hard and put up wet. Candied at times. Prominent orange, toast in the finish.

Slightly cloudy copper with a thin white head. Citric, piny, and grapefruit aroma with caramel and fruity malt notes. Some pineapple. Mighty bitter taste with pine and citric notes. Overly hoppy with very little balance.

Courtesy of Juart from a growler. Pours a clear amber color with a thick eggshell head and excellent lacing. The nose is a sweet cotton candy with some floral and pine notes, but not a lot of real bitterness. The flavor has a lot of caramel malt and toffee. The hop flavor is piny and spicy. A medium body with some oily texture that leaves a nice bitterness on the tongue.

After taking in the weak aroma of stale hops and seeing the flat bubble-less orange pour, I thought I was going to be let down. Well as far as IPAs go, I was, but for this brewer and compared to the aroma it was great. Taste was light malt in the front with very little carbonation. The aftertaste, though, is when you are hit by hops so big you would think you were drinking an IIPA. Very nice finish. Would like to try this again.

On tap at the Pour House. I agree with Nate. This is a really good find as far as IPAs go. Hazy amber caramel, off white head. Aroma is tangerine/floral. Flavor is tangerine/floral; bitter and crisp, yet not too peaty.
