On tap the brewery. Molasses, licorice and malty nose, nutty with a little bit of hop spice. Light smoky-coffee notes but very weak. Burnt sugar. Dark brown-black clear with thin head. Medium-light body with medium-high carbonation. Starts medium sweet with molasses, burnt sugar, and some carbonic smoky acidity. Pretty smooth throughout but mild bitter end. Sweet after and some nutty dry astringency.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy tan head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was woody, dry , roasty and a bit smoky. The flavor was semi-sweet with a moderate woody and nutty presence and touches of smoke and bacon. Medium finish and body. Ok.
