This medium bodied German red has the perfect malt character matched with a subtle hop balancing act!! This is the fat little German kid from the Simpson’s favorite beer!

Pours dark amber without much head or aroma. Not getting much on the tongue with this one either. My least favorite here.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew pours a clear dark amber color with a thin beige head that that dissipates to a film. Spotty lacing on the glass. Fruity aroma with some malt notes. Light body with a mildly tart fruit character and notes of grainy malt and light hops. The finish is fruity with a sweet malt aftertaste. Fairly average overall.

Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a dark red-amber color with a trace of a beige head. The aroma was faintly tangy, sweet and fruity with a hint of caramel. The flavor was bitter and tart with a moderate vague fruity hop presence - though hints of grapefruit and lemon came through. The finish was medium length malty and vaguely fruity. Medium body. Decent.

Draught at Monroeville: Faint aroma of pale malts. Poured amber in color with a small, tan head that lasted throughout. Clear. Not sparkling. Good lacing. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of sweet malts, caramel, slight funk, and a hint of strawberry. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, malt and slight strawberry finish.
