750 ml purchased at La Saucisserie BAM in Laval (Quebec) on December 16, 2012. Black, medium dark beige head. Aroma of chocolate and sour fruits coffee, very malty. Mocka coffee taste, slightly hoppy, very dry bitterness. This beer came out just before the so call End of the World in December of 2012, much better to drink it on St. Patty’s Day 2014!

Black pour with a decent sized tan head. Roasted malt, belgian yeast and Coffee in the aroma. Chocolate and bitter coffee up front, yeast, soy, roasted malt, a bit of smoke. Medium body, fairly lively carbonation. A surprise from a brewer I usually stay clear of.

MartinT (8030) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 8, 2013
My Bottom Line:
This deeply roasty Imperial Stout takes dark chocolate and coffee flavors to peppery and raisiny edges for a very satisfying sipping experience.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the deep black.
-The nose also recalls black sesame.
-The Belgian yeast is discreet under all that roast and rich sugars.
-Fruitiness remains light throughout.

Bottle; 2013 version.

Pours a dark black color with a very quickly disappearing brown head. Nose of chocolate and coffee, a bit of soya sauce. Body is medium and some cream on the mouth that is pleasant. After comes the alcool finish but it does not really overpower. Quite pleasant I like it!

(Rating #5009)
