Creamy spicy and brown - true. Fairly yeasty, a true belgian. Carmels and nut spices. Tasting in full bloom as it begin to sour. This statement expands as it warms. merci, rastacoure!

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2003 Very carbonated brown body with a big long-lasting almond head. Aroma of cloves, malt and yeast. Spicy, creamy medium body, well-hidden alcohol, caramel malt notes, little tart peaks, dark berries. Not amazing, but certainly worth a try or 10 if it's not too hard to get. I still prefer the Mcchouffe, but that's pretty good and definitely has some nice belgian character.

Mmmmm, an extremely yeasty floral aroma emanates from the bottle upon opening. A very beautiful dark brown pour and a big creamy head that quickly fades into obscurity leaving a little brown creamy film around the top.Taste is quite spicy and creamy but the finish is quite dry. Some fruity tastes make themselves present, but overall it tastes like a really spicy brown ale which I really like.

Yeasty nose, ruddy copper. Spicy malt is good. Finish is spicy dry. Quite yeasty overall. Solid offering and ten times better than their scotch ale.

Orangey-brown. Toffee malts and dark fruits in the aroma. Body is similar, but with added leafy, twiggy notes.

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2005 (original rating - 3.8)) Dark amber. Nose is yeasty, hints of banana, alchol and spice. Body is thick with malt. Nice light banana notes. Slightly spritzy, comes towards a light hoppiness at the finish. Overall quite nice, tastey and works well together.

Very cloudy dark auburn colour with a hint of red shining through. The head is big and froth while quickly dissipating. The aroma is fresh with fruit - light apple scents. Lightly spiced and yeasty. The body is very choclatey and malty at the front. A good thick yeastiness is accompanied by a nice sweetness that is not cloying. A light bitterness finishes this nice belgian-style strong ale.

its a dark brown that lets hints of orange in it..all along being cloudy as hell and sporting a nice tight and creamy as hell head..aroma was nice and malty with musty surroundings and notes of sugar plums, bubble gum, and some licorice infused rum..spicey yeast greats you and takes you into a sweet field of sugar cane, dusty barley, and bready yeasts...the spicing is subtlely done with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg...very nice indeed...gets more spicy and chewy with time though and grows in bitterness too..thanks go out to MartinT

This deep copper beer has a big spicy, malty nose. At first I got a metallic finish but after a few sips it got better. Like the aroma, the beer tasted of malt and lots of spices.
