Eructoblaster (1394), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Mar 18, 2004 Very nice orange cloudy body. Its white/pink head unfortunately do not last long enough. Cherry, coriander, banana, yeast and, above all, cranberries aroma. Robust fruity and spicy taste with a bitter (almost acid) but too short final. Good winter beer. To try with moderately strong cheese.
Glouglouburp (2573), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jun 9, 2008 In short: A juicy (apples, grapefruit, orange), floral and slightly spicy Belgian-ish Ale. Not very god but refreshing and interesting.
How: Bottle, 660ml, 3 to 4 months old
The look: Cloudy blonde body with a short-lived white head.
In long: Floral nose. Taste is juicy and again very floral. Like some kind of flower petals juice. Fruity flavours of grapefruit and apple juice join in. Described on the bottle as a Spicy Strong Ale although the spicy is really not very apparent. Some cinnamon and ginger maybe but not a lot. As the beer warmed-up some orange juice flavours started coming through. Something about the overall beer makes me think of a distant cousin of Dieu Du Ciel Rosée D’Hibiscus (but not nearly as good). Highly drinkable and overall an unexpectedly pleasant beer coming for this usually rather boring brewery. Unlike its ratebeer homonym “snoro” this beer does bring something interesting to the beer community.
jgb9348 (2402), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Jan 26, 2008 Super clear golden/orange coloured body with an odd neon type look, and a very thin off-white head that fades fast. Aroma of strong caramel, toffee, malt, curacao (VERY strong), coriander seed and even some spruce. Light-bodied; Very acidic, almost lambic feeling with a sour taste up front then fading to a light malty and curacao flavoured finish. Aftertaste shows some malt, spice, pit fruits and a tiny bit of alcohol. Overall, a decent and fairly light belgie beer - pretty nice, actually! I sampled this 660 mL bottle purchased from some small corner shop about 2 years ago in North Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 26-January-2008. Viper666 (541), Greenfield Park, Quebec, Canada Jul 17, 2007 Bouteille 660ml. Gedge (7), Toronto, Canada does not count May 20, 2007 Puts me in mind of Unibroue’s Quelque Chose. I think this would go over well with non-beer drinkers who like mulled wine and/or cider. I wonder what this would taste like if you heated if up a bit. davefortier (17), Canada Mar 27, 2007 Je n’aime pas vraiment les bières épicées mais celle ci est très bonne en petite quantité french tickler (642), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada Feb 12, 2007 Drank in a trappist glass. Orange copper poor with almost no head. Aromas of pink grapefruit, rhubarb, orange peelings, cherries, pine, sweet bread, a little floral... Well it tastes what you smell... mostly you get the sourness and acid mouthfeel of the grapefruit and the cranberries. There’s a spicy twist to it as well, add a nice cinnamonish aftertaste at the end... Awkward, yet very enjoyable. mds (2111), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 6, 2007 Bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy bright orange body with a creamy large white head. The aroma reminds of a triple, what with all of the apples and general fruits, lots of potpourri spices too. Tart and spicy to say the least. Flavour starts out with some sweetish malt but then the tart fruit (cranberry, cherry) overtake it very quickly. Very dry finish. Interesting but it’s not so easy to drink a lot of it.
