Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 12, 2004 Orangish amber with a head that quickly dissapears. No lacing really. Carbonation is quite active though. Awesome aromas! Coriander blended with ginger and other spices. Some metallic notes, some malts, bittering hops and plenty of citrus. Flavors are amazing as well. Funky and tart. Ginger comes out a lot more with the coriander being muted slightly. Small hints of bittering hops. Very complex spice bill. This rocks. BückDich (4793), McCall, Idaho, USA Aug 11, 2004 Hazy orange, ruby with good carbonation levels. The aroma is awesome with some fruity funk & barny sour yeast; very spicy too. The flavor is tart with nice sourness & sweet hops. Delicious dry finish, puckering yet balanced and complex. beanmedic (324), Hamilton, Ontario, Canada Jan 11, 2005 Golden orange colour. small nice looking head. nice yeasty flavour. very nice beer. pronounced cranberry flavour. dirkules (613), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 21, 2004 On Tap at Volo... Definitely a good beer, pours a light golden with a nice thick white head. Reminds me a lot of unibroue. There are notes of corriander, cranberries, blackberries as well... aromatically sensational. Palate has plenty of citrus and champagne with a soapy sudsy mouthfeel, which means the barley malts are prominent... a lot like griffon brews. Compares well and better to those brews afformentioned. Nice stuff! destroye7 (299), Melbourne, Australia Dec 1, 2006 Updated: Dec 2, 2006660 ml bottle. Super cloudy orange color. Medium-low carbonation. No head. Really nice tangerine taste. dry finish. Really good beer. Would buy again for sure ! Gedge (7), Toronto, Canada does not count May 20, 2007 Puts me in mind of Unibroue’s Quelque Chose. I think this would go over well with non-beer drinkers who like mulled wine and/or cider. I wonder what this would taste like if you heated if up a bit. Boutip (2335), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada May 17, 2004 Bottle: Poured a red beer with a bubbly head that disappeared a tad too fast. Aroma is quite spicy with some sweetness in the mix. Carbonation is really good and body is medium, which is quite convenient for fruit beer. The ginger taste is quite powerful (does taste like real ginger as opposed to some flavoured ginger taste) with the sweetness from the cranberry balancing things out. Overall, this is a very refreshing beer and probably a bit underrated. I had this beer about two years ago and I see some major improvement with those products recently. GregClow (2493), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 4, 2004 Updated: Dec 19, 2004Well, it was bound to happen eventually - I forgot that I’d had this beer before, and tried it again last night specifically to rate it. I’m glad I did, though, as I enjoyed it much more this time around. My basic description remains the same, but I found the flavour much more pleasant, and bumped the numbers accordingly. [Original review: Orange-pink colour with a decent sized head. Strong and sour cranberry aroma with some spicey notes. Flavour is quite tart and acidic, although there’s some sweetness in the background. I found a small taste of this to be OK, but I can’t imagine drinking a large amount.]
