750 ml bottle. Pours a subtly veiled orangeish amber with a short lived white head. Aroma is smoke and wood. Flavor is smokey, caramel malt, roasted and a touch of maple. Finish is wood, herbal and maple. Subtle maple, almost disappointing. Medium body, average to strong carbonation. Not bad, but definitely not the best maple ale out there.

Aroma: Smelling of smoke, apples and yeast.
Appearance: A clouded amber colored beer. A quick fizzy off-white head with no lacing and small curtains.
Taste: Tasting bread, fruits, syrup and smoke.
Palate: Medium high carbonation, a soft texture. A medium body.
Overall: Sweet and smoky, as it probably should be. But lacking body and bitterness.

pours hazy golden-orange with a very nice frothy off-white ehad, good retention and alcing. lightly smoked malts, very yeasty peppery, kind of natural maple, toasted sugary malts. decent grassy hopping, somewhat awkward mineral finish. light to medium body - oily, very hint of acidity. still... o-k.

Bière ambrée, quelque peu orangée, à 6% d’alcool. Versée dans un verre tulipe. Mousse généreuse mais qui se sauve rapidement. Bouquet puissant d’épices, de fumée, de levure. Cela rappelle les notes de la Chouffe et de la Coup de Grisou. L’érable est peu perceptible au bouquet. En bouche, c’est puissant, très épicé. Les saveurs d’érables arrivent davantage à la finale. Le terme «bière forte épicée à l’érable» m’aurait semblé ad hoc. Pas mauvais, mais c’est un peu trop fumé pour moi. De plus, dans le style «érable», j’ai vu beaucoup mieux. Bel essai de R.J., toutefois. Bon petit produit qui est simplement moins dans mes cordes. Cheers!

Bière brune de 6 % d’alcool. Elle possède un odorat sucré et fumé. Elle a un moyen col mousseux au versement. Elle a un bon goût de fumé, style briquette et/ou jambon fumé. Elle a un bon goût sucré restant en finale, du même genre que du sucre brun et un petit goût de clou de girofle. Petit goût amer, mais intéressante !

Nouveau brassin 2013. Selon la fiche reçue de la brasserie, les copeaux de chêne ont été délaissés au profit du sirop d’érable. À l’oeil, on se retrouve avec une bière cuivrée-orangée avec un col de mousse tenace mais non insistant (je me comprends!). Nez levuré (style Chouffe) avec une belle touche de sirop d’érable qui prend de plus en plus de place. En bouche, on goûte le malt fumé et le sirop d’érable de façon admirable. En fait, c’est probablement l’une des bières qui réussit à intégrer le mieux le sirop d’érable sans le dénaturer dans un «blend» peu approprié.

Arôme de sirop d’érable, de caramel. Goût de sirop d’érable peu présent, seulement en arrière-goût. Bière correcte sans plus, plusieurs bières au sirop d’érable sur le marché sont bien meilleures.

660ml bottle from the Broue Ha ha. Aroma is complex, floral, herbal and citrus. Notes of cereals and taffee, quite refreshing mining on a higher percentage of alcohol without overtaking. It has cloudy appearance, donning a nice copper robe resembling unfiltered apple juice. It has a medium sweet taste, lightly bitter. I guess Japanese would add that "je ne sais quoi" to it (the umami). It is a light "full body" beer with a slick feeling. Nice carbonation to it, giving it a nice lasting neck. It’s not astringent but still refreshing. This Maple Sirup beer finishes on a light touch of maple, where otherwise not really present I found. Overall I’m satisfied, I was not expecting much, but am glad I had this beer today.

Originally rated February 2005. Pours a hazy beige-amber colour with a good head and nice lace. This being a Cheval Blanc beer, smells like their usual, on the lees or something like that. Scent reminds me of Blanche de Chambly from Unibroue. The taste though is quite interesting. Like a blanche, with the hint of maple syrup. Very smooth and pleasant. In the same vain as Choune Maple, very good.

Hazy deep blond color. Woody maple and roasty aromas. Strong sweetness. Abrupt finish.
