3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 mikemccarthy (87) - Huntington, West Virginia, USA - APR 7, 2013
Pours a deep, translucent copper with a thin, tan head that stays. Good lacing. Roasted, nutty aroma with hints of caramel and chocolate. Rich, full, creamy mouthfeel with subtle effervescence. Pleasant taste -- nutty with chocolate notes. A rather tasty representative of the style.

Bottle pour. Heavy on the head production for me. Airy mouthfeel. Slightly below average brown in my opinion.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 TomTron (295) - Aiken, South Carolina, USA - MAR 25, 2013
Pours a dark brown with a thick, sudsy, off-white head. Aromas of brown sugar and caramel malts. Flavor is a bit creamy and the malts pretty much dominate, but it’s rather one dimensional and run of the mill. Drinkable, but forgettable.

1.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 esjaygee (3209) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 9, 2013
Gusher. Had to sit this one on the sink on a 45 or so degree angle to allow the foam to come out at its own pace for a good half hour or so. Brown with a very large light beige head that sticks around forever. Aroma of brown sugar, nuts, grains, toffee and a metallic quality. Taste is metallic with light nuts and malt. Fizzy, slippery and chalky. Awful in most facets.

Bottle from Total Wine & More in McLean, VA. Murky brown pour with a little sediment. Small white head. Palate is a little thin, and the flavor features a bit of artificial tasting chocolate. Not a great beer.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Dogbrick (6041) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 7, 2012
Pours a dark brown color with a slight reddish tinge around the edges. Medium thick beige head that dissipates slowly. Partial sheets of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roasted malt and slight hops. Light body with flavors of chocolate, sweet malt and a touch of hops. The finish is short with a grainy malt aftertaste. Barely average overall.
