American Brown Ale
A traditional English-style brown ale, but with more body. Its deep brown color comes from a combination of Chocolate and Black malts. Tall, dark and smooth – the perfect cure for the domestic beer blahs.

Very light but brown malt smell, same with taste, slight hoppy finish, can taste some alcohol, no finesse here, boo...

Beer of month club offering. Pours a light brown without much of a head. Muted nose - some malt. Taste is of malt, with some nutty sweetness. A decent brown ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a bottle, A brown body with a tan head that had nice retention. Initial aroma had a strong malt presence. Which seemed to me to be of sweet toasted bread and a blend of nuts. Cereal notes were present too. While the flavor was enjoyable it was mostly a one note malt flavor. A nice mouth feel and a nice smooth finish.

A medium brown body with a brown head, Decent retention and no lace. Kind of watery body. Aroma had good caramel malt notes and a nice nutty quality. Flavor was very mild, but had a nice nutty flavor and the caramel malts were nice. Had a slight roasted note that seemed bitter at times,/ Finish was light and smooth. A little watery.

Over carbonated in the bottle. Nice color and creamy white head. Flavors are very subtle but lacks the spiciness typical in English ales. Kind of woody aroma. Although some spicy notes are subtle.

On tap at the brewpub. Clear dark brown body with a decent head. Modestly appealing aroma features medium and caramel malts but is not matched by the bland, malty flavor. OK feel.

12 oz undated bottle served in a pint glass (from July 2011 tasting notes). Pours a dark mahogany brown with a modest of white head that quickly reduces to a ring and a few thin ’islands’. Slightly hazy. Somewhat weak but pleasant aroma of mixed malts, slightl floral and nutty. The mixed malts comes through in the flavor which seems to have several varieties: perhaps most obviously, chocolate. Nutty, with hints of coffee and hops in the ever-so-slightly dry finish. M - medium/thin body with medium carbonation. Crisp.

Not living up to their ’Son of A Peach’ status. This one failed to meet the mark of a good conversation brown.
