2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
from Ale in the Mail - pours clear brown with thin white head. Very faint aroma of malt. Hops and carbonation increases the bite of this. There is some malt and some roast but it’s overshadowed by the initial sting on the tongue. There is an unpleasant aftertaste with this as well.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12oz bottle pours a hazy amber/brown with a large khaki head. Aroma muted caramel and toffee malts. Taste of chocolate and caramel malts with a slight bitter finish. Drinkable, nothing special that’s forsure.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pour is a dark brown with a large creamy white head. Aroma has some dirty smelling roasted malts and not much else. Flavor is weak and watery. Some malts are noticable but very weak and bland. Got a weird sour chemical thing after the swallow. A piss poor version of a brown ale.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Solid pour with some tan head and lacing. Coffee colored pour with an earthy aroma and flavor. Malty with some sweet coffee undertones and a dry finish.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a dark mahogany brown color, with a thick, creamy off-white head, but the presence of a lot of chunky floaters detracts from the appearance. The aroma is light and nutty, with a little bit of caramel sweetness and some chocolate. The flavor likewise has a little bit of chocolate and some dark caramel sweetness, but there is also a substantial astringency that distracts and detracts from the dryly sweet flavor profile. The thin-medium body and fine, prickly carbonation do little to mask these problems. Overall, although aspects of this beer’s character are fine, the totality of the drinking experience is not something to back for.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz bottle. Pours orange-brown with nice beige head. The aroma is heavy on the toasted nuts with a slight roastiness, some grass, and some earth. The flavor is slightly nutty with some roast/ash notes, some herbs, and a thin metallic taste. The finish is kind of unsatisfying.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark brown color. Woody aroma. Malty flavor with roasted or smoky notes. Finishes nicely. Not bad, but not very noteworthy. The roastiness is a nice aspect.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Another mediocre beer from the "Beer of the Month Club" (what a rip off by the way, luckily got it as a gift.) Starts off okay, but shows major flaws as it warms up. Thin as hell! Nice malt profile, but not what I’m looking for.

Had on tap.
Served in a pint glass, the beer arrived hazy brown with a 1.5 finger tan head. Really great lacing.
Roasted malt is quite apparent in the aroma along with a touch of cocoa and spicy hops.
Flavor starts out with the roasted malt and transitions into a bit of cocoa and coffee. Spicy hops are there along with a very light nuttiness. Moderate to high bitterness is present throughout and lingers for quite awhile.
Overall a pretty average brown ale. I would get again.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Aroma is almost stale smelling with a bit of malt. Clear brown with large (too large) tan head. Flavor is bleh, a bit of spicy hop bitterness.
