COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional English-style brown ale, but with more body. Its deep brown color comes from a combination of Chocolate and Black malts. Tall, dark and smooth – the perfect cure for the domestic beer blahs. 5.6% abv

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a brownish copper with a small head. Good lacing. Nutty and roasty malt aroma. Taste is nuts, caramel malts and a fruity finish. Thin bodied.

Draft at a wedding reception. Light brown color, nice nutty aroma. Light chocolate and coffee taste. Nicely balanced.

poured an orange tinted brown, with a fairly large light brown head. Aroma of nuts, caramel, vanilla and apples, A bit strange, but ok. Flavor was solid for the style; blend of nuts, caramel and chocolate. Slight bitter finish. Average for the style

Beer of the month pours clear red to brown with a decent beige head, aroma of cheese nuts and a touch of cocoa, flavor of chocolate, roasted malt, some acidity with nutty tones and a touch of bitterness, light to medium bodied, quaffable

Location: 12 oz bottle from Brickskeller, 7/31/09

Aroma: Nice malty nose, caramel, honey, chocolate, toasted malts
Appearance: Nice brown color, clear, tan head
Flavor: Like the nose, malty sweetness up front, sweet, roasted characteristics too
Palate: A bit watery/thin, decent mouthfeel
Overall Impression: I’d seen this one in the store a few times, but never bought it. This beer is fair, I would like a bot more body in a brown, but it had a decent taste, and a nice enough nose.

Another mediocre beer from the "Beer of the Month Club" (what a rip off by the way, luckily got it as a gift.) Starts off okay, but shows major flaws as it warms up. Thin as hell! Nice malt profile, but not what I’m looking for.

Was somewhat surprised by how much I liked this. Pecan brown color with a huge head that never fully dissipated. Mild aroma of nuts and toast. Medium bodied mouthfeel with lightly hopped taste. Dry caramel and nutty tastes. I'd get this again.

Slightly sweet with a roast nut overtone, Bald Eagle pours a hazy reddish brown capped with a big beige head. More of a southern English brown, hops are restrained. Not very earthy but very malty. Interesting take

Slightly hazy ruby & copper tinted amber coloured body with a very thin off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, nuts, caramel, anise, cloves, yeast and a bit of sweet fruits - pretty nice for the style, actually! Medium-body; Soda sweetness with a chewy maltiness coupled with a bitter nut flavour. Aftertaste shows alcohol, metallic bitterness and a tiny twang of sweetness, but not much. Overall, the look and smell are great, it’s just the taste that disappoints. I probably wouldn’t recommend this, but it isn’t an absolutely horrible beer by any means. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Durham, North Carolina on 31-August-2008, sampled a day later at home in Washington.

A medium brown body with a brown head, Decent retention and no lace. Kind of watery body. Aroma had good caramel malt notes and a nice nutty quality. Flavor was very mild, but had a nice nutty flavor and the caramel malts were nice. Had a slight roasted note that seemed bitter at times,/ Finish was light and smooth. A little watery.
