2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12-oz. Pours a hazy medium amber with a loose white head. Nitrogenous laundry nose. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Mild amber and toasted caramel mid palate. Nitrogen knocking around. Soft finish.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a light copper color with lots of head which hung around for a while. There is also LOTS of floaties. There is some decent lacing. Aroma is caramel malt with some breadiness. Taste follows the nose with just a slight bitterness in the finish. Overall a decent beer and much better than I expected for some reason. Maybe it is the very commercial sounding name that had me thinking the worst. I will have to try some of the other beers from this brewery.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours hazy copper w/ some small particles hanging. A small off white head leaves some lacing. Aromas and flavors are caramel malts and brown sugar with earthy/spicey and pine hops. Well balanced and finishes slightly bitter and dry. Very drinkable and easy drinking which can get you in trouble.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Piggly mo-fuckin Wiggly, North Charleston. Burnt bronze pour with a medium, kinda dingy head. Faded hops and strong malts in the nose, like an Arrogant Bastard homebrew clone thatís been hanging around a while. The raw, bitter flavors of remaining hops donít go altogether well with the sweeter fruitbread elements, but itís not too bad as ASAs go.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle, from Country Fresh. Code on back reads "3184". Amber orange color. Body is completely muddled with lots of chunky yeast particles. Huge pile of yeast at the bottom. Off-white head, decent lace. Bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. Caramel malt, some musty older hop flavor. Some spicy hop. Lightly soapy, kind of sweet taste, just a light bitter. A bit of a lightly spicy bite in the finish. Seems alright at first, but bite and taste gets worse as this goes.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Bright, orange amber, and nearly opaque. Heavily sedimented with lots of floaties. Thin but standing and firm head. Pretty "normal" aroma for an American ale, hinting at some nice flavors. Indeed, this drinks with an almost surprisingly sturdy snap of piney hop expertly place in the finish, following a well blended, slightly metallic but solid earthy malt base. This could be a quality "fridge beer" to drink over and over. (#5013, 5/9/2013)

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A - Pours a murky orange/amber with a dense off-white head that provides excellent retention. Forms islands of tightly knit micro bubbles. Impressive random patterns of lacing coat the inside of the glass.
S - Smells like an American Barleywine. Heavy citrus, heavy yeast, slabs of toffee malt, candied green pears, citrus hops soaked n alcohol.
T - Big blast of toffee malt up front, turns to a rich marshmallow sweetness, pears, over ripened grapefruit, caramel, whipped honey, with citrus hops on the back end. Finishes with grapefruit kind of clean.
M - Full, very creamy and lush feeling.
Ahh the American Strong Ale category! This seems to be a twist on the American Barleywine. Great looking brew. Strong smells and the flavor satisfies the palate after you quickly figure out what direction itís going. The empty glass reveals a very funky yeast smell that reminds me of catfish bait. This does not show up as your drinking though. Kinda weird.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
New Beer Distributors, NY 12oz ($2): Pours a hazy orange with an off-white head. Aroma is sugar, some citrus hops, but not quite all the way to the point of an IPA. Taste is slightly bitter, with some notes that are not quite toffee, but similar. Some ambiguous fruitiness makes it in there as well. Alcohol well covered. Easy drinking considering the high alcohol. This lacks complexity, but is still better than I thought it would be.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours hazy orange with a soapy white head. Aromas of some citrus fruits and light malts. Flavor is a bit up front with malts but the hops kick in for the finish. Alcohol isnít very well hidden but it does do what the label says it will, ring your bell. Overall not bad, but thereís so many better ASAs out there.
