Pours a cloudy dark brown with a nice tan head. Aroma has a little bit of chocolate and some wheat/yeast/banana notes. Nice body, light carbonation. Flavor is roasty with some chocolate. Nice smooth finish with lingering chocolate with caramel and even fruit. This one was enjoyable. I also love this style so an extra point.

Overrripe apple nose. Cloudy brown, thick yellow head. Woody apple core flavor. Walnut finish. Watery mouthfeel. Decent.

Draught at Delaneys. Pours brown with an off white head. Smells of sweet chocolate, some peppery splashes, earthy. Tastes of caramel, dark fruit, some licorice. Enjoyable and different.

UPDATED: NOV 12, 2011 Pours a hazy, chocolatey brown with a small, khaki head - no lacing. Smells sweet with yeast, grains, raisins, coffee and toasted malts. Crisp carbonation, medium body, A bit too lively in the mouth for the flavors. Tastes of toasted malt, wheat, chocolate with some smoke and peppery spice. Enjoyed this both on tap at The Tap Room in Spartanburg and in the bottle. Refreshing and an interesting malt-leaning brew.
