Bottle… Hazy, amber ale with a small, flimsy, white head. The aroma is all about gingerbread. Medium-bodied with prickly carbonation. Leans a touch on the sweet side of balance. Subtle, spicy flavor of ginger and praline. Lightly acidic. Short, crisp, clean finish. Bottle courtesy of growler!

Pours a transparent dark bronze orange with a thin, spotty-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet orange peel and lots of ginger with a touch of anise and caramel malt. Has an average thickness body with finely dissolved carbonation and light caramel sweetness with a good spice balance. A pretty decent spiced beer.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Drake (6491) - Ivy, Virginia, USA - FEB 1, 2009
12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours an amber color with a medium head. Poor head retention and lacing. Very slight haze. Spices are dominant in the aroma, mainly your nutmegish pumpkin spices. Seems like there is actual pumpkin, even though the commercial description doesn’t say so. Taste is spice... lighter than the aroma... and some vegetal hops. Medium bodied.

Bottle. Christmas spices and nuts in the aroma. Cloudy orange amber, low golden head. Mellow mouthfeel, medium body. Slightly sticky, spices are a bit cloying at first, light fruit, a bit mealy. Not my cup of tea.
